I have just bought a “vintage “ kitchen cabinet .
It has a slight smell. Any tips for getting rid of the smell?

Wipe out with white vinegar and leave for 24 hours before wiping again with flash liquid or whatever.

If you can, I'd put it outside in the sun today as well.

Thanks @keiratwiceknightly .
I can’t take it out . Well , not today anyway.

I have always found Neutradol gel very good, got rid of the smell of cigarettes in my second hand car.

Ground coffee - not dregs but fresh out of the packet.

Saucer of bicarb

Thanks everyone.
I have put tubs of fresh coffee in the drawers after washing it out and drying.
mused soapy water , then vinegar. I have put bowls of vinegar in each cupboard.
fingers crossed 🤞🏻

Best of luck! We used the coffee remedy after DD bought a used car which stank of large wet dogs......it really did work ;-)

Thanks @TeaAndStrumpets .

It has not entirely worked so far. I will give it a bit longer. I am thinking I might just store laundry, cleaning products in there.

Sugar soap might do the trick.
I have also found Flash with bicarb to work really well on odours and leaves behind a lovely fresh smell.

I'd make a really think paste of bicarb and smear on every internal surface and leave it for as long as possible. Then I'd wipe it all out and use a weak solution of thin bleach to clean it again. And keep rinsing it until all of the bleach has gone. You need to get into every nook and cranny. And don't forget the underside of the shelves and top!

I'd also be sure to get it as dry as possible afterwards, using a hairdryer if necessary.

Thank you .
