Wardrobe storage solution DIAGRAM INCLUDED!

Hi,
My bedroom has 2 beautiful handmade alcove wardrobes in which I LOVE except that there is no drawer storage at the bottom and instead is just a big space. A joiner could make something but money is tight and I'm looking for a quick fix. Atm I've got all my jeans and junmpers etc in boxes under there but it looks rubbish and isn't practical.
I've been looking for some kind of storage solution that would allow me to pull out trays/baskets. Any ideas?! What about a kind of cube storage unit with pull out boxes - would that work?
I've got about 1200mm width and 400mm height to play with. Loads of depth. I'd love to see if you've done anything similar.
Absolutely amazing diagram attached. Thank you!

Can you post a photo as well? Might help visualise what would look good

I've found a photo before I moved clothes in 😂
The bottom section is where I mean. I keep duvets in the top and there's a rail in the biggest bit.

the large of these? It really depends what your taste is there’s lots of lovely boxes and baskets.

bobbins.at.home on Instagram did some amazing wardrobe revamp with pull out baskets that might be out of budget but be good inspiration.

Thanks @Heroicallyl0st
I do follow Bobbins but the internal of the wardrobe is a pax so those wire baskets sit on rails attached to internal sides of the wardrobe. I don't have any internal sides apart from what you can see. Unless I build them myself/get a builder in which I'm trying to avoid!
Like the idea of baskets but would they just end up with loads stuff piled in them as it's hard to access the bottom?

How deep is the space?

Transformatio · 26/07/2022 19:51

I’m filing to come up with anything that isn’t going to cost loads but look worse than getting a joiner out other then lovely baskets and folding your clothes Marie Kondo style so nothing is at the bottom and hard to access.

Transformatio · 26/07/2022 19:51

failing

ClownSchool · 26/07/2022 19:56

If the bottom is hard to access, could you put your duvets in the bottom and baskets, etc in the top?

GOODCAT · 26/07/2022 19:59

We had similar but decided to make shoe racks to go in the bottom. We stored the other stuff we would have put in drawers elsewhere.

The shoe racks were easy to make just cut up some strips of wood and screwed together. We then painted it. The plus side was that we could make them to fit and they lift out which is a benefit when you drop something or want to clean.

KarrotKake · 26/07/2022 20:02

Can you put half the duvets at the back of the top and bottom, then baskets in front with stuff you use more regularly?

ClownSchool · 26/07/2022 20:03

I can’t see the inside walls of your wardrobe properly. Are the items currently in there fixed in position or could they be moved up or down to accommodate something like this?

I can't see why they're hard to access? If they're pax, ikea make boxes and baskets that fit. What do you want to store there? Shoes are a good call as another poster said. Or out of season stuff. I'd have 3 crates in that space

User65412 · 26/07/2022 21:49

Thanks all. Great ideas! It's about 90cm deep so plenty of depth. By hard to access I mean not useable - I have stuff in 40cm deep boxes atm but I can't access the stuff at the bottom of the boxes easily if that makes sense.
They're not pax and the dividers you can see can't be moved. I've just seen this: diyinpdx.com/2017/03/29/closet-hacking-part-2/
and it got me thinking that I could just make a simple mdf frame that would fit the komplement drawer system?
Thanks @ClownSchool I didn't realise you could buy the dividers like that.
I want to store all my jeans, jumpers and other things I don't hang in there. Atm I end up chucking out everything in the top of box to reach the bottom so I think shallower drawers would work better which is what I'm trying to achieve!

Ah it’s a shame you can’t adjust the interior. Hope you are able to sort something out.
