Help with laundry powder

fedupathome · 16/07/2022 08:34

I was wondering if anyone knows what brands of laundry powder have a scoop that comes with it?
None of the ones I've tried have come with a scoop.

I've not seen a scoop included in any of the brands I've used in ages, but Persil were giving free scoops recently (I think the offer was via Facebook).

Kerberos · 16/07/2022 08:42

Just use any scoop from the kitchen? Ours is a 1tbsp from a set where the handle had broken off. Its been in the powder tub for 10 years now.

Dinoteeth · 16/07/2022 08:45

Lots of them have a number or email on the side to order one. I ended up with a cardboard one at one point.

CactusFlowers · 16/07/2022 08:46

I don’t think any of them do but you can sometimes get a free one via their website.

darisdet · 16/07/2022 08:53

I use an old plastic tumbler cup.

Gazelda · 16/07/2022 09:01

I use oxygen whitener and that always has a scoop.

I used to use a yoghurt pot.

Afterfire · 16/07/2022 09:02

I just use something from the kitchen - an old small mug will do if you just fill it half way or whatever.

I was about to say this - I got a tub of vanish oxi that came with a scoop - when I ran out and got a new one I then had a scoop for the washing powder!

jesusmaryjosephandtheweedonkey · 16/07/2022 09:15

I bought a washing powder tin online and it came with a scoop

Mueslikid · 16/07/2022 09:29

I use the scoop from a tub of vanish too.

My sister uses an old Tommy Tippy sippy cup because it has measurements down the side.

My mum uses an old ice cream scoop!

NeverDropYourMooncup · 16/07/2022 09:33

I use an old espresso cup.

sunglassesonthetable · 16/07/2022 09:36

you can buy scoops on eBay or Amazon or in Home Bargains/ B&M.

SirChenjins · 16/07/2022 09:37

I use a little round plastic tub that you get for holding snacks - I weighed powder into it so I knew how far up to fill in and now use it as my dosing scoop, and put it directly into the drum with the clothes.

This is about the most exciting thing going on in my life atm.

hedgehoglurker · 16/07/2022 09:49

You can order a scoop from the website of a big brand - eg. Ariel/ Persil.

BertieBotts · 16/07/2022 10:26

They don't include them because it's a waste of plastic but you can order them from their website and they'll send you one for free.

I use an old mug, old wide neck baby bottle also works well and has the markings on.

dementedpixie · 23/07/2022 21:18

I've ordered free ones online before

DeanStockwelll · 23/07/2022 21:24

I store my powder in a store and pour container like the ones you would use for cereal.
I dint need to measure it as I know roughly how much to pour in the draw fir dirty/ lightly soiled / refreshing stuff .

topcat2014 · 23/07/2022 21:29

We just went to powder as Aldi had run out of liquid. Exciting times

fedupathome · 24/07/2022 08:21

I've been looking for some free ones but can't find anything. I need to be able to measure out the amount of powder being put in so we don't end up using too much or too little! We live in a hard water area.

Me too !

Girlintheframe · 24/07/2022 08:27

If you phone the number on the side of the packaging they will send you one. Takes a while tho so you will need to find something else to use in the meantime.

dementedpixie · 24/07/2022 08:30

Persil seems to have stopped sending them out. Dont know about the others

abovedecknotbelow · 24/07/2022 08:31

I use an American cup measure

AllThatFancyPaintsAsFair · 24/07/2022 08:32

You don't need a scoop, just use a spoon and count up to whatever number you've worked out you need

It's not a precise science, I wouldn't worry about it too much

Theoldwoman · 24/07/2022 13:50

The Aldi ones do.

I throw away the scoop though and replaced with a measuring spoon (tablespoon) because I was using way too much with a scoop.
