How do you clean your sink drain?

I have sinks with the sink stoppers in them and last night had a lot of black gunk back up into the sink and pipes underneath sink started leaking! my teenage ds tried to help and got the sink stopper out but broke it in the process and snapped another part underneath 😳
Have a plumber calling out next week to sort for me but in the meantime I'm wondering how to stop this build up and how to clean it easily without removing the sink stoppers?
I have a bendy drain snake but it's obviously not been removing enough? Hoping to do the other sinks today to avoid this happening to another sink..

Soda crystals and distilled vinegar, chuck a load of soda crystals down then a good slug of vinegar leave it for a couple of hours then a kettle of boiling water, works for bathroom and kitchen sinks, you might need to do it more than once if you've got a bit of build up, but I do ours once a month and get no problems anymore, we've got an old house with narrow pipes and I've got long curly hair that sheds, so bathroom drains in particular used to be a problem

The same as Rewilding but I use
Baking soda and vinger.

Bleach and boiling water

Soda crystals and hot water. Bleach and hot water. Limescale remover and hot water.
I have also successfully used dishwasher tablets and hot water. (necessity being the mother of invention!)

Soda crystals and boiling water once a fortnight.
Never pour fat down the drain and if you've done a particularly greasy washing up follow it up with boiling water.

Thanks everyone 👍 I've got soda crystals, white vinegar and baking soda in the cupboard so I'll be trying that, about once a month to maintain I'm presuming
