Smelly houseguest

Had a houseguest (relative) who has some new health issues but has never been exactly hygienic. Tooth brushing was rarely done and now he has some medical issues, he is eyewateringly odorous, namely from not wiping properly when using the bathroom (evidenced by days old dirty underwear). My leather couch is stinking to high heaven after one evening visit and I can't shift the smell. Can anyone recommend any products? The smell is transferring to anyone who sits there. (DS plonked himself down before I could warn him and I could smell it on him after)
I'm going to try disinfecting with my lemon Zoflora next but I'm hoping I won't have to break out the vinegar because I hate the smell of that just as much. Any simple recommendations for something I may have around the home already?

How awful. I feel for you. Glad the bicarb and water paste helped.

We had similar experience which unfortunately resulted in us having to actually throw out a much beloved rocking chair after the first visit of this particular person. I'd been told this person had recently been diagnosed with IBS but I know people with this condition, including other family members, and they do not leave furniture in the state this man left our rocking chair! Since it was a family member, we didn't feel able to ask them not to come, but we didn't want the situation to repeat itself either so I bought five large pet incontinence pads and three single divet covers as closely matched as I could find to the dominant neutral shade in my furniture. I cut the duvet covers in half, hemmed the open 'bottom' end tops and the 'top' end bottoms (they had poppers along one end) and slipped a pad inside five of the covers. The next time this realtive visited, I put the pads on all the seats (so as not to draw attention to the one seat the relative would occupy so they didn't feel singled out/embarrassedand) and said that due to a 'spill' we now used these mats to protect the furniture as the covers were easily washable. Relative plonked himself down without a second thought, and we all did the same. When he left I put all the other mats away, removed the cover from the one he had sat on, washed it and put it back until next time. Worked fine. Hopefully, if you don't mind the small outlay to begin with, it will work for you in future and protect your lovely leather furniture!

I also, did the same with smaller pet mats inside pillowcases to protect dining chairs (used just for the duration of his visits)!

Buy him a nappy and make him wear it or no visit. Add a baby soother aswell if he starts crying and wailing while you steer him to the front door, sorry.... while your husband/co hobbyist leads him out.
