I’m looking for one for a relative (who has asked me to source one for her) and I’m not really sure what to look for.

Does anyone have one?

I have one but i use it for drying clothes rather than the house. What is it needed for?

Start your quest by looking at a company called Ebac , they've been going for years.

Yes, we have one, and use it for clothes drying also.

It’s mostly for arthritis - it eases up when the air is less humid and she hates a steamy bathroom (no windows) and kitchen. Ideally something on wheels - but I’m guessing it will be a kit the size of a home paper shredder (it can’t be too heavy because of the arthritis)

We had a De’Longhi for several years. For the house and drying clothes.

Sorry, I’ve noticed they’re out of stock but you should be able to find other sellers.

I had mine from Tesco with wheels on so it's easier to move about.

Hi we recently invested in one to try to ease the condensation in our main bathroom. So after reading a lot of reviews and recommendations we went for a Meaco they are expensive but seem to be worth the price tag. Ours is on wheels and very easy to push around unless it's full of water your Aunt may struggle to lift the water tank out to empty it if it gets full. Perhaps she could go for a smaller unit depending on the size of her property. Details attached.

Some dehumidifiers can be fitted with a hose to drain the water instead of a tank. That could be useful for your aunt if she would struggle to lift a heavy tank of water. It might make it harder to move around though as there needs to be a sensible place for the water to drain.

I have just bought a Meaco as well, we have a 5 bed house but only one room ever got damp. I put it in the middle and it draws in a lot of water. It is on wheels but still quite heavy and when the tank is full that is quite heavy to lift. However it was a low wattage one which means it doesn’t use loads of electricity.
