Bulk delivery coal

Considering possible issues this winter over fuel, I'm thinking of bulk buying now coal and seasoned wood. I have lots of storage space. But I've no idea of prices.

Anyone give me a rough idea of costs and where is good to buy from?

I can't help with the coal I'm afraid but we use Randalls for wood. We used to have one pallet delivery in September and one in January however DH has said we will get at least a third delivery this year possibly more due to using the log burner more than the underfloor heating system. Details attached, they do different quantities of wood for delivery so it depends on what you are looking for.

We use smokeless fuel and have it delivered approx twice a year. The last delivery cost £140. That's 5 big bags but I'm not sure of the weight. We light the stove most nights from Oct-March.

I would google coal merchants in your area. We pay £8 for 25 kg bag of smokeless 'Burnwell'

I forgot to say we use a local supplier that I found by googling coal merchants.

We get ours from the local coalman. I always bulk buy in August because it's cheaper in August than through the winter. I pay £22 for a 50kg sack and usually buy 5 or 6 sacks (depending on how much is left from last winter in the coal bin). This will last us through the winter because we mostly burn logs.

Logs are free - we've had offers from several farmers that DH has done work for that if he wants to cut up a fallen tree he can have the wood. We've got enough wood to last about 3 years probably. DH loves his chainsaw and never turns down free wood.

We get anthracite, we bought 2 tonnes in Feb this year and it was about £450 a tonne. One ton generally lasts us 4 months (just for our rayburn) We normally get a ton at a time but got double because prices were going up. It was £400 a tonne last time we ordered it, 4 months prior.
