What would you use to sanitise floors-unsealed faux wood flooring

Hi, in rented accommodation and all hard flooring which is not done very well, and is unsealed, so any wet on the floors starts to
make them peel or loosens the panels 🤦‍♀️ as I have learnt the hard way.

So I have just today had a workman in, now usually I do try to ask if they don't automatically do it, to take shoes off, it was a bit tricky because he kept going in and out. And the work he was doing.
So now I am clearing up, and it's brought me back to the issue I already had, which is how to clean my floors properly without causing any more damage.

Looking forward to some possible suggestions, thanks!

get cheap viny to cover it?

Thanks, yes I guess that would be one option, but other work to do here first. And not sure how much it would cost, even for cheap vinyl, and to have it fitted etc properly.
I wanted some answers for what I can do at the moment. The only thing I have found in the past is just to use floor wipes but they are costly and time consuming.

Steam cleaner?

Ah sorry, missed that they can't get wet. Sorry, haven't got other suggestions

If the wipes clean it ok, then do that, and wipe off any residue with well wrong out damp cloths. When dry apply a thin coat, possibly 2, of hard wax floor oil (a little goes a long way). Put rugs and mats in any areas that get very dirty and then just sweep/hoover regularly. Then use Method wood floor cleaner on a cloth pad mop thing if it really needs a clean, but do wet cleans less frequently and definitely more damp cloth than wet mop.
