Earthy smell from kitchen drain

Does anyone have any tips on getting rid of this permanently? I cleared it a few weeks ago with bicarb and vinegar but it has come back. First floor flat if that makes any difference. I've just run a load of hot water down and repeated the bicarb and vinegar.

Have you taken the pipes apart and checked them? Did mine at the weekend they were grim.

Also unscrew plug and check under there.

YouTube will help

I could try that tbh. I rent and moved here six months ago so goodness knows when they were last looked at. Thanks 😀

Ask your neighbours on the ground floor if they have noticed it . If it was coming up from the sewer then they'll notice it first and would also be the first to notice sinks and toilets not draining properly.

Bicarb and vinegar just neutralise each other (acid and alkali cancel each other out). Maybe see what happens if you only pour one of them down.

Pretty sure it's coming from my drain pipe - it drains fine but just whiffs. No problems in the bathroom, just the kitchen one.

I'll maybe mention it if I see her around.

Thank you. I did not know that! The bicarb vinegar combo was suggested on a few places I googled last time. The smell has gone for now but I will definitely try them separately if it comes back again.
