Hi everyone

I was wondering how do you clean your home every day , what do you do everyday and how to manage to divide your time
Thanks

Every day? I don’t.

I used to have a lovely weekly cleaner, now too poor for that so the house gets some occasional attention from me or DH.
I’ve abandoned dusting unless we have visitors. The bathrooms get done weekly-ish, ideally more often but in reality it’s weekly and kitchen surfaces usually daily. Rarely hoover upstairs but do downstairs floors a few times a week as they do get revolting.

We have busy jobs, a toddler and a needy horse. So I get about an hour a week at home to spare on the house. DH probably does double that but 3hrs a week doesn’t go that far. I do like doing all the laundry though, do at least a load a day so that’s always under control. We do at least keep the dishwasher going so there’s never dirty dishes and everything in the house is put away so it’s pretty tidy.

When life is less financially strapped we’ll have a cleaner again as we’re just not capable of managing long term. We have 2.5 years left of extortionate childcare and then can hand over the marigolds to
someone better at it again. Can’t wait!

I am really good now at ignoring cobwebs. I do find having low standards useful and flooring that hides dirt. We have mostly slate floors downstairs and they hide a multitude of sins.

have a look at the organised mum method (TOMM). She recommends 30 mins a day, which tackles a different room each day, plus washing each day, keeping surfaces wiped down etc in the kitchen. Also has a messy house boot camp to start if you need to get sorted / decluttered first.

I suppose it depends if you work! I've been a SAHM for 4 years now and have just done little and often, following TOMM as much as possible. Before I had my daughter, I worked full time and did one day of mad cleaning a week but I didn't have anyone else messing up the house while I was at work.

I'm going back to work soon and it will be interesting to see what it'll be like!

I do floors, bathroom and kitchen daily. Takes about an hour (no kids) Dust once a week, do rooms top to bottom. Windows and other home maintenance once per month. Lawn etc an hour on a Sunday. Shopping delivered in day off.
Tidy up and put away stuff as I go - never leave a room empty handed and if you’ve finished with something, put it away/bin it/ charity bag it straight away. Once a week a have a half hour whizz through cupboards topping stuff up - eg bulk buy laundry liquid and decant into smaller easier to use bottles, if you have a damp cloth you can wipe cupboards at the same time. That way the only spring clean thing is to wash curtains as everything else is done at least once a month. So maybe an average of an hour and a half a day, sometimes less sometimes a bit more.

We've stopped our cleaner, so now I do exactly what she did (except on a Saturday, not a Friday) - a 3-hour full clean. I listen to podcasts and actually quite enjoy it! (it's early days....)

The problem I found with doing it spread out over the week is that it always seemed like I was cleaning, plus I didn't get that transformative, 'clean-house' feeling, which I find quite motivating. DH will usually do a mid-week hoover downstairs (we have dogs) and we are a clear-up-as-you-go family, but in terms of dusting, mopping, cleaning bathrooms and kitchen, it's only done once a week.

I work full time long hours, DH works part time, we have a toddler and a cat.

Prioritise bathroom, kitchen and main-thoroughfare hoovering. Those tasks get daily or almost-daily attention. Dusting, decluttering, hoovering behind furniture, windows etc get done when we have visitors or we’re bored.

I'm a SAHM to two, one a teenager the other a baby.

No cleaner but I'd love one!

I do the following daily to keep on top of things:

Vaccum downstairs
Wash pots (usually 3x a day)
Clean countertops
Empty bins/take out recycling
A load of laundry washed, dried and put away
Pick up dog poo

Then a big clean on a Sunday:

Vaccum stairs and bedrooms
Clean bathroom and toilet
Polish
Change bedding

I'm quite lazy so dont clean skirting boards etc, just go over them with a hoover.
DD does jobs such as cleaning doors, handles etc

I work so don’t have time during the week to vacuum etc. However, I do clean the kitchen on a daily basis. Bathrooms and vacuuming get done on the weekend. I used to have a cleaner but can’t afford it now!
