Thoroughly cleaning two bathrooms (including wall tiles and skirting, all surfaces and floor)
Dusting and vacuuming four large bedrooms (two of which belong to young children so have big toys out that need dusting and moving to vacuum)
cleaning door handles and light switches in bedrooms
cleaning mirrors (2 double mirrored wardrobes, 5 small mirrors and a full length mirror)
Stripping and remaking a super king bed
Dusting and vacuuming two flights of stairs and landings (skirting board, dado, bannisters and spindles, pictures on walls, wiping over doors and cleaning handles and light switches)
Putting bedding on to wash and hanging out to dry

I went through each task and estimated the time individually and it came to 3 hours 15 mins. That's without any breaks though and I was possibly under estimating some things so I think even 4 hours would be reasonable.

TheBitterBoy · 25/04/2022 14:20

Is say about three hours non stop, but it would depend on how dirty the bathrooms were to start with.

gingerhills · 25/04/2022 14:24

It would take me about 4 hours.

ResentfulLemon · 25/04/2022 14:44

At least 4 hours, possibly more depending on the state and size of the bathrooms

NrlySp · 25/04/2022 14:47

4 hours at least.

PeeAche2 · 25/04/2022 14:48

This would take me around 3.5 hours. 4 hours with a little break.

dreamkitchenhelp · 25/04/2022 14:51

I would say 4 hours

Ulysses · 25/04/2022 14:56

This is what I do with DH on a Saturday and it takes about 4 hours in total.

Veryverycalmnow · 25/04/2022 14:56

I couldn't do that all in one go. I'd do a couple of hours and then have a break and then take up to another 2 hours. I hate housework so much.

Northernlurker · 25/04/2022 14:58

Four hours at least

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 25/04/2022 14:58

Probably about 3.5 hrs. But I am not a professional cleaner, nor do I have the attention span to do all that in one go so the actual answer is 3.5hrs split over 15 days.

chisanunian · 25/04/2022 14:58

Yes, I reckon about 4 hours as well.

Lweji · 25/04/2022 14:58

The best way is to do it yourself and then see how long it takes you to the level of cleaning you want.

I strongly suspect that 4 hours is not enough for all the cleaning involved, including in children's rooms, not if you want it done properly.

itsthesoundofthepolice · 25/04/2022 15:05

3-4 hours probably nearer to 4. All Depending on size of bathrooms and how dirty they are to start with and how many toys are scattered about the bedrooms.

Pommelegible · 25/04/2022 16:22

Thanks everyone, really useful responses.
@Ulysses is that 4 hours each or between you? (As in would it take one person 8 hours?)

It's four hours in total between the two of us. I have a head start doing the tidying, cleaning and polishing, DH does all the floors, vacuuming and mopping them. I also do stuff like sort out the bins too and recycling.

TBF DD16 does her own room. We've got two en suites and one main bathroom as well as a downstairs loo but I try and clean them as I go through the week as well. Youngest DD is 11 so if she is around tidies up but she's often playing football so I'll tidy it myself (more thoroughly).
