Bread maker recommendations

Hi has anyone got any good recommendations

I'd like an inexpensive all rounder. I know some people buy them and never use them. I really want to buy a good one that works that I'll use a lot for sandwich bread and bagels (Jam if possible) easy clean and doesn't take up all my kitchen counter space.

The holy grail of bread makers.

Thank you for any advice. Really appreciate any time spent helping me out.

Panasonic (I have a basic model) - not the cheapest option but worth the investment. We've not bought bread in years, and although I often make and bake 'by hand,' The breadmaker is used at least once a week and sometimes every day.

Agree... had a panasonic for years.

Panasonic absolutely. Ours is 12 years old and still going. Although I do mostly by hand now as I love the way kneading transforms the dough-wholemeal bread only takes 15 minutes work with enough time for proving. But breadmaker bread is good.

Panasonic seems to sell for a decent price second hand around here, if you can buy a lightly used one you'd probably get a bargain).

Panasonic here too .
SD-ZB2502
Love it , though I haven't worked my way through the recipes .
Mainly white loaf , pizza dough and Chelsea Bun dough.

Takes up a bit of room but even DH (grudgingly ) admits it was a good investment

Panasonic all the way, I've got one that's 20+ years old that I've given to one of my kids and is still going strong. I only got myself a new one because it had been used in the garage for years and didn't look nice enough to move back into the kitchen.

I'd suggest Panasonic too, we have a Panasonic SD-2501, which we've had for years. The sandwich loaf is my favourite, I use the overnight timer option as it takes 5 hours, so we have delicious bread ready in the morning. There is a quick loaf (2 hours) option too, which is tasty, but more fluffy, I like the denser sandwich style so only use when I've left it too late. It has dough settings for bagels etc, we use the bread dough setting to make bread rolls with the kids, and the pizza dough setting. And it can do jam, though I've never tried it - I do jam in a pan because I prefer the style of jam where you don't boil it very long.

Thank you all Panasonic seems to be the one. I'm going to check them out second hand and keep an eye on the sales. Thank you !

Panasonic also - with the seed dispenser !!

Another Panasonic devotee here - I was alternating a breadmaker loaf with a handmade sourdough but use the breadmaker all the time now as it saves using the oven. There are also several good cake recipes (again saving oven use). I have always kept mine on a kitchen work surface next to the scales and all the flour, salt, sugar, seeds etc in a cupboard immediately above so it is as quick and easy to use as possible.
