Cleaner damage

Have you ever asked your cleaner to replace something that they've damaged?

Mine damaged an expensive item (£100+) last week. They didn't tell me at the time but I saw it as soon as they'd left and called the owner. A replacement will be sorted but I feel nervous about having them back as I'm sure they're going to hate me now for complaining!

Maybe I shouldn't have complained and should just have cancelled the future cleans, but it can't be repaired and is an essential item for me which I would have to fork out for to replace.

Did I do the right thing?!

My cleaner broke our blind, (about £70) and she told us immediately and paid to replace it. I’d be a bit unsure about someone coming back who broke something and didn’t tell me though. My cleaner has insurance to cover that kind of thing

Yes, there is that. It's possible they didn't notice at the time, but I can't be sure.

Has anyone been a cleaner in this situation? Would you be annoyed at the client for telling your boss or would you just accept that you damaged it and move on? I'm so worried about having them back in my home.
