And do they need a lot of maintenance?
@CuckooClocked,
You can swap the whiskers with each other ,( they pull off ) which stops them getting to bent in one direction . I swap mine over about once a month.

How quick is the battery going flat? It should run for about a hour/ 1.30 .
( or at least the 11s model does )
If it's considerably shorter than that I would recommend you get in touch with Eufy the customer service is great and they should be able to help you out
Thanks that’s helpful. About half an hour and it runs out of battery!

Word of warning.... Just be careful if you have any pets who either bring in rodents or do a stealth shit/sick. It's not a pleasant job cleaning Eufy after that, trust me. We used to have it set on a timer for, like 3am so that the floors were lovely when we came down in the morning. After several experiences of aforementioned carnage, we now put it on just before we go to bed, so we know the floors are clear.

Can people with Eufy friends tell me what models they have? So many to choose from....

Frazzlerock · 01/03/2022 16:00

@SlightlyJaded ours is an 11S It's simple but fab. Its a few years old now and we nearly pensioned it off recently to go for an al singing all dancing hybrid one. But Eufy customer service is so brilliant I managed to fix it with a new side brush motor. I also treated it to a lovely new filter and side brushes (soooo cheap) and its as good as new again with plenty of life left in the old thing.

@CuckooClocked
Get in touch with Eufy re the battery they will be able to sort you out .

@Frazzlerock, my eufy tried to clean up cat sick once urgh Envy , I agree with you it's best to have them running down stairs just after you gone to bed and upstairs just after you get up.

@SlightlyJaded mine is a 11s .
It's there most basic model but as I said up thread I don't really see the point in spending on £100s on something just because it can map room

While, you're on the subject, has anyone got a Eufy mop model?

Report
SkankingMopoke · 06/03/2022 21:37

I have freshcarnation . The mop function is OK, although sounds better than it is. It is basically wiping a wet detergent-less cloth over the floor. It has lessened how frequently I need to mop properly, but I'm not sure it's worth the price difference. If I was buying again I'd not bother.

I have a Coredy and I love it. I’ve got a shedding dog and I love the fact that every floor is cleaned right up to the edge every time. Everyone in my family said it was a gimmick and I’d be giving it away in a few weeks. Well they were wrong. I love it and will never give it away.

Sorry if I'm being dim, do they only work on hard floors, not carpet?

Soffit · 09/03/2022 11:41

Personally, I have given up on them. They feel a bit lazy like a third rate cleaner. Mine , DD's and the Maine Coon's long hairs were constantly getting blocked in the roller in a kind of multicolored mixture. I discovered that I actually find vacuuming destressing in comparison. Also, all that standby and recharging time could be spendy.

I have a eufy 30c

His name is Goofy Eufy.

We can control him via Alexa or the phone app.

He’s very good, if slightly like a naughty toddler. He’s OBSESSED with the bases of two bar stools in the kitchen. He’s eaten a sock - but the advantage is the DC don’t leave crap lying about now as the threat is real. We have a combination of hard and soft floors. Goofy is on a timer to start as I leave the house on the school run and we know if he’s off and running we are running late. He’s recharged by lunchtime and once or twice a week I pop him upstairs early PM to do a turn. He has a fine old time under the dusty beds - and again it makes the DC clear their floors.

No maintenance to speak of. He copes with a small step/change in level (3-4cm) no issues at all. He has a complete toddler tantrum/wibble with bright sunshine on white floor tiles as he thinks he’s going to ‘fall off’ somehow. He doesn’t need protecting at the top of the stairs though and knows the drop is real.

Very happy and would thoroughly recommend.

To buck the trend we have a coredy R750 (sweeps and mops) or Flat Eric, as he is known. I went off eufy's when two friends had them spontaneously combust. I know 6 people in my local mums group who have this model (i waited patiently for a year for any of them to have a problem - none have, and I've had mine for more than that now).
I cannot fault him. I am ashamed by how much dust and dirt he pulls out of the carpets even when they don't look that dirty - so they definitely work! (i have a handheld Dyson for emergencies/doing the stairs - but it randomly gives me electric shocks so I don't use it much!). I set him off when i go to bed or go out usually - and only when it needs doing The kitchen/dining room is hard floor so i tend to alternate vacuum one night/mop the following. (in days of more carefree energy use he would vacuum every night and occasionally mop - you need to change the thingy).

To add an opposing view, there is no way that my Eufy 30C Max would cope with a 3cm step.

I do however value it highly, and would replace with another robovac (not necessarily Eufy, I think at that price point they are probably much of a muchness) immediately.

@sweetkitty

I love my Eufy, he’s on everyday, you think he’s not picking up much until you empty him. We have 4 cats, a dog and 4 DC so he is priceless just do do a maintenance clean daily. I just Hoover once a week now. He’s the best!

Does it pick up mud too?

I have a cheap one from Amazon, the make is called Venga.

It’s great, it takes an age to do my kitchen and living room, but it’s quiet so it just pootles around, usually while I’m WFH.
It has a “mop” function too which is basically just running a damp cloth over the floor but I spray some antibac on the floor before hand, and it’s a good way of maintaining between proper mops.

It definitely will never replace the proper hoover, but good for daily use.

I have a neato and I bloody hate it.

Cost an absolute fortune and has never worked properly. Really annoyed with myself for buying it.

I've returned it twice for repairs, both times the group needed chasing and they kept it for months. They return it still not working. I think they're just trying to run out the clock on the warranty.

Love mine. He's on everyday and picks up a SHIT TONNE no idea where it comes from given we are a two person and dog household with wood floors.

He's eaten a sock, some headphones and sometimes destroys toilet roll if it's trailing on the floor but easily retrieved.

Only problem is the dog fucking hates him. He goes bananas if Eufy springs to life and I fear for Eufys life so I have him programmed to come on when we have a morning beach walk.

Only thing is if there's residual shower drippage on the bathroom floor it gets his rollers all damp and rather than pick up dog hair it gets deposited in little damp clumps rather than sucked into his box. At least it's all in one place though...

SmugOldBag · 18/03/2022 06:12

@Lambanddog yes he'll collect mud but he's still just a Hoover so he'll get his rollers all muddy and smear it around your house!
If it's dry then all good.

Ours is great. Lives in his dock under the sofa. Comes on at 7am

They need a name. As ours can work with Alexa, so if we want it to stop hoovering earlier, instead of using phone to control you can just say ‘ Alexa, send Geoffrey home’

Absolutely not! Robo hoovers go wrong all the time and you end up spending hours on YouTube trying to fix them.
move had 3 robo vacs and 2 eufys and they’ve all gone wrong so they’re off to the electrical dump.

What have you been doing to them?! We've had ours (a Eufy) 2yrs now: we have pets, it's used every day, but showing no signs of dying any time soon. I clean out all the trapped dirt and hair once a month and change brushes etc when needed, but nothing special.

The iRobot was good for a while but very heavy and quite noisy. Various things have gone wrong. The latest is that it needs a new battery. So I bought a new battery and watched a YouTube tutorial involving tiny screwdrivers about changing it but the comments were full of people saying once they’d dismantled it they struggled to
out it back together.

then the eufy stopped working. 2 beeps which mean a problem with the bumper, whatever that means.

All the time I’ve spent watching YouTube videos about fixing them plus sending them back for repairs I could have hoovered my house thousands of times. I’ve spent 1400k on them for which I could have hired a cleaner 24/7 to Hoover for me.

Im so glad I’ve seen the light. It’s a weight if my shoulders. No more YouTube ‘how to’ videos. Oh relief!
