And do they need a lot of maintenance?

I have posted about this on lots of different threads m but imo ,
YES
I have a Eufy 11s ( one of the more basic models ) i have had it for about 3 years , he was around £200 at the time .

There are some much more expensive ones out their but to be honest I cant see why anyone would spend £500/ 600 for one ,

The only thing I dont like about mine is he doesn't 'map' the rooms so it has a very random way of cleaning but he still gets the job done.

Have a look at this thread , its about 2 years old now so there may be newer vacs available and some may no longer be available but it will give you a good idea of what to expect ( its 17 pages long so go for a pee and get a brew before you start ! )

Oh and no they need very little maintenance, I empty mine about once a week and clean his filters and brushes about once every two or three weeks , it only takes a few minutes each time

fitzbilly · 27/02/2022 16:37

Yes they are definitely worth it. The only maintenance is emptying it once a week which is hardly difficult.

I love mine. One less job for me to do.

Got mine for Christmas, love it worth every penny of DHs! Love having vacuumed carpets every day (for the kids to ruin again in 5 minutes lol)

Love my Eufy. They often have £80 off on the Eufy site, bringing them down from say £229 to £150

Utter godsend. Mind, I have wood floors throughout. My Mum has one and it struggles a bit in her lounge as she has a large, deep rug

Virtually no maintenance. I untangle a bit of hair from the 'whisks' and empty the contents into the bin.

I've had Gtechs, Henry, Dyson's etc. Binned them all for this little beauty.

I have a disability, so it was a total no brainer for me in the end.

I prefer the eufy which I bought after reading on here. I did have 2 roombas but they kept going wrong and were much heavier.

Report

Eufy is the one. I've had a Roomba who was rubbish because he climbed up the tiniest skirting and got stuck. Dyson who is too tall to go under furniture and is a bit neurotic and Eufy who does mindless cleaning.

I adore my Eufy 15C Max. It’s amazing.

On the back of this thread I've bought an Eufy 11s as it was so reasonably priced. We have a very fluffy dog but small rooms so hopefully it will be up to the job. Fingers crossed.

Yes! Because I have fucking pets, I also have a Eufy, it’s better than my old Roomba.

I want to love my Eufy - but IMHO, no

They get stuck everywhere constantly.

And I’d just rather do a proper Hoover myself - along edges, corners, under mats etc.

I find by the time I have the place “prepped” for Eufy I may as well have done it myself.

Plus I don’t like the idea of leaving it on overnight - which would probably be the most useful..

I know one person with it who loves it

And another household who question it's usefulness.
They say they need different furniture, higher I think so that the robot can go underneath properly. Plus they find it a bit of a gimmick.

I'm so tempted, but we have a big step which separates one half of the house from the other. I guess you just have to lift him up/down every now and then?

Also, when I hoover the house with my Shark I get a bucket load of dust, and these little robots seem pretty tiny in comparison....

Report
NewYearCalavicci · 27/02/2022 18:56

@CointreauVersial, yes you would need to carry him / her up and down the step ( or build a ramp Grin )

I though the same as you that the tiny bin on it wouldnt be big enough and to start with this was the case because despite living alone and vacing once fortnight / week Eufy managed to pick up loads for the first week or so but now he trundles around everyday he keeps on top of the fluff / dust / food etc .

To cope with stairs and corners I get Andrew to do them
www.audew.com/Audew-4000Pa-Cordless-Handheld-Rechargeable-Wet-Dry-Vacuum-for-Home-and-Car-p-100067.html

He does a decent job but the filter does get clogged quite easily, but it is easy to clean . I have never used it for water but it would be a handy addition if you have a blocked sink

Love my Eufy! He has Googly eyes and tons of stickers from my son 😂
He’s 2 years old now and trundles about for an hour every day: best money I have ever spent! (The vac, not my son)

I love mine. Been using xiaomi roborock for three year and still going strong. Doddle to look after, like emptying and washing filter after every use and wiping and removing tangled hairs every now and then. Not great on carpets tho!

I bought my eufy three years ago, and I'll never be without one ever again. Very little maintenance and it's been working like a dream from the start. Totally worth it, and I can't imagine why anyone buys the really expensive robot vacuums when eufy's are amazing.

Thank you very much for your input everyone. I am going to research prices for Eufy.

Why are people calling their hoovers ‘he’. Surely ‘it’? 🧐

The burning question is, do your cats sit on them?

We now have new kittens, and one of them definitely looks like she would... but would my money be wasted?

We also have a Eufy and he’s a god send. We still do a “proper” Hoover once a week but we have a dog and he keeps on top of things. He’s very low maintenance we I just clean the filter once a week and empty him every day as our dog moults half his fur every day!

I have a braava irobot for my hard floors (laminate and tile) which cost me £179 from John Lewis and it's great. It's not perfect cleaning but it's much, much better than mine. I bought an armchair that was off the floor about 10 years before the robot cleaner, because I knew I'd have one one day.

Why are people calling their hoovers ‘he’. Surely ‘it’? 🧐

Before I got mine I scoffed at all the people calling it s/he thinking they were daft .
But i talk to mine esp if it he is getting in the way , he always seems to want to vac the bit of floor I am stood on !

Mine is a he because a she would never get in my way she would be much more observant and wait till I am out of her way Grin
