Cleaning glass coffee cups?

I have some double walled glass coffee cups that I use every day - I make cappuccino in them, so there is often a thin film of milk foam left.

They then sit in the dishwasher for three or four days until I have enough of a load to wash (I live alone so it takes a while).

I haven't been rinsing them first, partly because I use the same glass for a second or third cup over breakfast.

They've always looked clean when they come out of the dishwasher, but I've noticed now if i hold them up to the light, there is a very thin film still, with spoon scrape marks! It's very thin; washing it with a scrubby sponge doesn't do much to it, so it's pretty firmly on there. I've tried the glasses cycle in the dishwasher, and tried vinegar, but I'm not sure what else I can do to get it off. I'm not worried that they aren't clean, as nothing comes off to the touch, but it looks a bit grim and I'd rather they were sparkling!

What else can I try?

I know i'll probably have to start rinsing them every time before the dishwasher, but I need to get them clear first.

Usually double walled glasses shouldn't go in the dishwasher so my first check would be to see if they're dishwasher safe. Then I would use make a paste of washing up liquid and bicarbonate of soda and gently buff the glass with it on a soft cloth. Rinse often to see if you're making progress. Then yes you need to rinse before putting in dishwasher but to be honest you might as well just wash them if you're going to rinse them?

Thanks, I will try that and see.

These are dishwasher safe, apparently.

But I should have been better with rinsing. I have very little else to wash so I loved that I could put them in the dishwasher too. By the time I finish my third cup and then get around to remembering to tidy it up, I expect it's already dried, but I guess rinsing would still be some use.

Just have to get them clear first!

Are you sure it's milk deposits?dishwashers can etch glasses so they look cloudy.

There's some stuff to try here, but in my experience it's irreversible.

oh, that's quite possible. I just assumed milk froth as that's what I normally drink out of them, but it could etching, especially with what looks like spoon scraping. Some parts of the glasses have more of it than others.

I don't mind it myself really, but I'd be worried that if I served it to guests, they might think the glasses were dirty, and they're really not. Maybe I'll just always serve other people in mugs!
