Oven cleaning!

I know I've seen mention of something you paint on with a brush. Any ideas? I've tried searching, but no luck.

I've tried the dishwasher tablet, scrubbed with a scourer and a gel cleaner.
I've tried bicarb in the past.
I've done the lemon in hot water left in there for a while before starting.
I've done oven pride in the past- ok on shelves, but not great on the oven itself.

I haven't tried pink stuff...

It's better than it has been, but still not really clean.

I want to move without feeling embarrassed!

We have just done ours with pink stuff it was brilliant. Savers have a tub for £1. We just painted it on with a brush and cleaned it off with a wet cloth.

Shelves go in dishwasher, whip out while still hot (one at a time) from the washing cycle and scrub with a wire scourer - the burnt on stuff will come off easily. Wear gloves as the scourers are tough on your nails.
Get a hob scraper from Lakeland or elsewhere and go at the door and floor. (Don't wet beforehand.) Any crud will come off (in satisfying ribbons if it's bad enough!) Use hob cleaner on anything that remains.
For the future, get an oven liner - it can go in the dishwasher like the shelves. That way the only thing that will take a bit of elbow grease is the door.

Thanks both- I have a liner, but stuff seems to accumulate underneath it for some reason.

I'm going to find some pink stuff. Didn't realise that was the brush on one, and I've tried most other things over the years!

I was surprised how easy the shelves were to clean, once I started trying. I'd always assumed they were inevitably dark after a few years use.

In fact, I'd always assumed ovens were inevitably dark and dirty. I didn't realise that keeping them sparkly clean was a feasible ambition! GrinBlush

Oven Mate gel is brilliant stuff; it's a clear gel and is odourless. You paint it on, leave it for a while then wipe it off. It's not cheap but it works.

We used a small washing up brush to put on the pink stuff. It definitely works better if you leave it to dry before washing off.
