Hi I currently have a miele cat and dog compact. But I find it too heavy particularly on the stairs. I'd love something that was easy to use yet good at picking up and not over £500. I'd get a robot hoover however I think my dog might chase and bark after it. Plus it wouldn't do stairs. I'd love to hear your advice

Shark Cordless, pet version. I have a Newfoundland and it picks up her hair perfectly well. I also have a condition that affects my joints and this is one vacuum cleaner I can use without my shoulders shifting out of place. I love it (as much as a person can love a vacuum cleaner, anyway).

My Shark is great, does stairs, had a pet hair attachment and picks up cat hair really well even without it. It is moderately heavy, but you can lift away the wand and drum and do the stairs with just that bit, which is very light. It was £250.

I have a eufy robovac - the dogs hate it, but it is amazing. I also have a little wooden tool for doing the stairs. Cost about a fiver and is so much better and easier than any of the hoovers i have had over the years.

@thegoatescape I'm just looking at getting a eufy. Can I ask what model you have and if you have mostly carpet or hard floors? If both, is it better on one or the other do you find? And very interested to hear more about this wooden tool you speak of!

I actually have two eufys (they are that good!) one for downstairs which is all hard floor. It mops too, but the mop isn't that great for the amount of mud my dogs create. The other one is for upstairs and is good on carpets. Downstairs is the robovac G10 hybrid and upstairs is robovac 11s max. Look on the eufy website direct as they always have offers. I paid about £150 for each one. Check the reviews for what suits you best. As for the wooden tool thing - look on Amazon for lint remover for carpets - it has a wooden handle and a metal triangle bit which catches all the dirt/hair/fluff. Hope this helps.Smile

I don't think I could ever say I love a vacuum cleaner but I do like my Shark Liftaway. It's well designed, light, good suction, you can take the drum part off the wheels for stairs etc, and the filters are easy to get out for cleaning.

@thegoatescape thanks!

Thanks everyone. The Shark sounds good from your suggestions.
