How to clean cushions on mothercare nursing chair?

I'm interested in buying a second hand mothercare nursing chair but the owner has said that she has cats. My husband is allergic to cats and was wondering if anyone has had this chair before and if you can clean the upholstery to get rid of pet hair? Any advice would be very welcome!

Do you really need a nursing chair? I just sat in normal chairs/sofa/bed and rearranged pillows to provide support.

@RidingMyBike did this with my fist and recently tried a proper nursing chair and now I want one! It's only £20 as well!

Are the covers removable? Of so just put them in the wash and give the bare cushions a damn good vaccing. You can sprinkle (liberally) some bicarb on the bare cushions before you vac as it will help with smell. After you've vacuumed them, you can wash them down. Just dry them well.

Should be like new!

I have one of these. I think you can take the cushions off (or maybe even the cushion covers) and out them in the washing machine. They'd definitely survive a thorough hoover and a hot soapy cloth if otherwise in good nick.

Oh £20 isn't bad if it's useable! I remember seeing some hideously expensive ones in John Lewis and wondering if there was any point to them.

I have one of these bought second hand. The cushions should just velcro off and the whole cushion will go in the washing machine no problem.

Oh brilliant! Thanks everyone. I thought it might be the case because I imagine a nursing chair is expected to get covered in milk and baby sick Grin so would be an awful design if you couldn't clean it easily! I persevered through my first baby with a very good looking and very uncomfortable ikea chair (even with loads of pillows!) So I feel a deserve a £20 nursing chair this time around!

Ps thank you for all the tips about cleaning the actual cushions to remove the cat hair. Hoping it works and doesn't flare up DHs allergies!
