Afternoon Everyone

Take it easy...PAH. Did my usual aturday routines (cat litter, sweep and mop downstairs, vac staircase and landing). Also wrapped some pressies and tidied the Edroom

Went out last night, my friend I saw last week had Ed overnight. It was good to see old friends and kick back a little, thing is I was so shattered I fell asleep! In the pub Nevermind, I doubt anyone noticed

All I've done today is pop round and collect Ed and deliver presents. And I AM NOT DOING ANYTHING ELSE (cept sort out laundry, tidy our bedroom and do the ironing)

Have a lovely Sunday

Jas · 23/12/2007 12:32

I have a friend whofalls asleep every ime we go out if it is past 9pm, and once when we were ouside at a play park (in October)! We don' take it personally.

DS go hold of m lasses and dropped them at church. The frame is snapped I've just go home o find that my spare pair are sunglasses, so I'm going to be wearing glasses stuck together wih sticky tape all Christmas.
Lovely

ludaloolovesxmas · 23/12/2007 12:45

ImdreamingofaGROUCHYxmas · 23/12/2007 12:46

BiancaCastafiore · 23/12/2007 12:50

Boots helped me out in a hurry once when my glasses broke - hope you can get them mended Jas...how about fixing them with some curly ribbon for a festive look?
(sorry )

Grouchy glad you had a good night out

Luda just give a nudge and I'll come and chat. Have to wrap the kids stuff this eve but will probably be pleased to have a break for a while

BiancaCastafiore · 23/12/2007 14:26

had another row with dh

We have friends due any minute and are going to have to play happy families

ludaloolovesxmas · 23/12/2007 15:23

must be something in the air B....I had a huge row with my DH shortly before he stomped off out the door

Well house is all done...just have to keep on top of it tomorrow now.
Kids have all been playing in the garden and I managed to hoover the whole house, clean the bathroom and downstairs loo, so now I intend to have a nice hot bath, let the kids eat crap, watch some xmas tv and have a strong drink.

chow for now

ImdreamingofaGROUCHYxmas · 23/12/2007 16:30

Bianca This time of year does it to many of us. I've been really close to snapping DH's head off a few times today myself. (and I've chewed a few strips off Ed too)

Got a few bits and pieces done today. I actually managed to do something DH has been pontificating about for weeks. I sorted through some of Ed's toy baskets. I made 3 piles; to keep, to pass on or to throw. If I had more storage I could have done a few more but from little acorns... I've checked on drying, put some dry washing away, loaded and run the washer and, gone back to bed

Next job to do today is wrap some more gifts and to organise Santa's delivery

ludaloolovesxmas · 23/12/2007 16:47

Hi GO I'm the same at the mo...I was hoping I would start to feel xmassy soon...but no such luck!
I LOVE the word pontificating! My firend and I went on holiday last year and we were in stitches over that word! She said to me..."When you have finished Pontificating, we'll go" (I was doing my hair and make up) I laughed and said... I don't think "pontificating" means to beautify...and she was adement it did, as as neither of us had a clue what it meant we laughed and laughed (we had had a few glasses of wine I hasten to add) So now if we have to wait for either of us to get ready, it is refered to as "pontificating" LOL!!

Anyway, pasta for supper (decided chocolate was a bit slack, so pasta it is!)

ludaloolovesxmas · 23/12/2007 16:48

....and now I actually know what it does mean, its even funnier!...I'll have to tell her LOL

ImdreamingofaGROUCHYxmas · 23/12/2007 17:46

Luda I cant see Benedict XVI walking round the Vatican bathroom with his GHDs somehow

And I can't feel festive until I hear 'Stop the Cavallery' By Jonah Lewis. And as I don't do shopping or listening to anything other than Radio 4/5 anymore, it's hardly likely Might change once the tree is up (only 22hrs to wait for that

ludaloolovesxmas · 23/12/2007 17:51

Here you are GO

I love this one too...reminds me of my dad

Jas · 23/12/2007 20:35

Superglue is wonderful stuff

for rowing with ohs

DP is doing everything right at the moment, and I am feeling quite festive.

All my friends came and we had a lovely relaxed afternoon. DP even stayed ad chatted for a bit (he usually makes himself scarce at the mention of me having visitors)
The treasure hunt went well. The clues were fine but the things hey had to find were too complicated, so next time I will make tha bit easier.

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 23/12/2007 21:07

Evening all.
I have had another good day! Both DS's and DD's rooms are tidy and hoovered!
Also made some mince pies which are scrummy!
And got some shopping done. Few bits still to get tomorrow. I can't carry it all in one go.
at rows with OHs. Seems to be normal this time of year.

DC are very excited about it being xmas eve tomorrow! They are going to be manic tomorrow. Will keep them occupied somehow.

Shannaratinsel · 23/12/2007 21:36

Evening all

Jas glad your day was a success, sit down with a glass of wine and relax.

This is definately the season to be stressy, or maybe that's just me.
The list didn't get done, however i have concluded that it doesn't matter and i'm the only one stressing about it.
DD is loving having new scissors and is cutting up all her decoration pictures, but she has had a lovely time doing it. So we have a plastic bag full of tiny pieces of cut up paper (she put them in their) but a very happy DD.
The biscuits got done, not entirely successfully but nevermind.
The soup is definately getting done tomorrow

DD is still not really getting the whole christmas thing but they both love all the lights.

Unfrtunately we now all have the cold, so the christmas spirit is slightly dulled.

Anyway enough of my prattle, i am making notes for the organization of nxt Christmas ie. we will make some beautiful homemade christmas cards for family etc. ( yes i have just watched Anthea Turner, Aargh she really makes me feel inadequate)

Back tomorrow

Jas · 23/12/2007 21:45

We made lovely Christmas cards in Oober 1/2 term[smug]
When it came to writing them I found ha dd2 had written every single one of them o me, her brother, sister, and dp so we still didn't have any to send.

She also still loves cutting things...she is happy with bits of scap paper and my pictures to cut out.

The only thing I am still to do is a few more presents to be wrapped, and that can wait til tomorrow now.

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 23/12/2007 21:50

I have opened a box of choc fingers!
Am feeling a bit angy with DS's! DS1 keeps answering back and DS2 doesn't listen to me.
And to top it all they have (as usual) flooded the bath room floor! They are 10 and 8 FFS! Why do they make more mess than DD1 and DD2!

Jas · 23/12/2007 21:58

Deep breath, Tortoise.

Because they know that you will love them no matter how horrible they are?
Because they are 8 and 10?
Because they are boys???

No idea, really, but my dds are 7 and 8 and they can be pretty unpleasant and unkind at times, too.

Jas · 23/12/2007 22:00

Oh, the bathroom flooding is definitely a male thing. DP will be 41 next week and he can't take a shower without flooding the bathroom.Quite impressive really, as our shower has a full lengh glass door

ImdreamingofaGROUCHYxmas · 23/12/2007 22:03

Thanks Luda It's officially Christmas now! (Could do with a party tooter emoticon like you get with MSN

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 23/12/2007 22:06

Lol at your DP Jas.
I think nexttime i will check before they go to bed and make them clear it up!

I need to get the last few bits out the loft for wrapping in a bit.

JingleyJen · 23/12/2007 22:14

Hi Everyone

Had a fabulous day - am a bit tipsy - house immaculate - boys in bed after 9pm - friends came for party from 2pm last guest left at 9.30pm

I Love winter pimms (no.3).

Pressies wrapped, just got to pack bags tomorrow morning for traveling to Mums at lunchtime.

House coped quite well we had 17 children under 5 in the house and 35 adults food I bought worked well but should have bought fewer olives and more sausages! 2 tins of quality streets have gone!! (was hoping for some now with a cup of coffee)

Waffling now

Probably wont get on again before Christmas -

Hope you all have a really HAPPY CHRISTMAS

ATortIsForLifeNotJustChristmas · 23/12/2007 22:20
