Anyone have a tumble drying running in an unheated garage?

Does it need a vent? Would I get away with a condenser which could freeze.

I started to Google but have had so many contradictory stories.

MN please help

I have a vented hotpoint dryer on my garage it is absolutely fine.

I had a beko fridge freezer in the garage (info said it was suitable for an unheated garage). It was rubbish and lasted about 3 yrs. would never buy another beko appliance.

Zanussi washer & Bosch fridge freezer all going strong in garage. Prev had hotpoint fridge freezer that gave me easily 10 good yrs as well.

My garage is integrated into the house so not as cold as a separate building.

Beko tumble dryer installed this afternoon, thank you to everyone for their contribution

It was the only one I could get delivered so quickly. I'm looking forward to bringing the towels back to fluffiness right away.

Ordered through ao.com, their site is very easy to use, arranged for the old broken washer / dryer to be collected and the new dryer to be installed, with a pipe to drain the condenses water. Hurrah.

The delivery people were great and confirmed that they have installed lots of washer / dryers in similar locations, in an integrated garage and not heard of any issues.

Brilliant. Thank you everyone.

Just wished I had gone for a washer / dryer, now. If the Beko doesn't last long, I'll try a washer dryer next.

Mine is a condenser type in an unheated garage.

The only problem is having to get the car out to use it.

Hi. Does anyone know if it’s ok to put a tumble dryer in the garage without leaving the door up? I won’t want to leave it open as I won’t be able to keep an eye on it. Or do I have to have the hose poking out the door?
Thanks

Mine is a condenser dryer, which turns the hot steamy air into water which drains away (we had the drain put on when doing other works there

Works perfectly with no need for the door to be open

Not sure how a vented dryer would get on, unless it had a vent to the outside.

How did it catch fire? Overheat

One of the reasons tumble dryers catch fire is when prople don't clean the filter. I clean the filter after every use.
