Did I read on here that you can put the washing powder dispenser drawer from the washing machine into the dishwasher or was I dreaming?

Our is a bit manky and I have just soaked it and scrubbed it but it could do with a good clean.

I believe you can.

I don't have a dishwasher, but if I did I would bung in the drawer. I spray my washing machine drawer with something bleachy, scrub it till I can no longer see, then rinse it until my sight returns.

I have to spray clean where the drawer goes, too.

I have put dishwasher tablets in my washing machine before to clean it, but ive nver thoguht of putting the drawer in the dishwasher, great tip, thanks.

im sure you could

personally i put anything that is not 'electrical' or 'alive' or too big in either the dishwasher OR washing machine

this includes shoes / teddys / dolls tea sets/ bath toys / duplo / paddling pool toys / dolls clothes / dogs beds / washing up brushes and cloths / sponges etc

everything (so far comes out fine and i cant see how the plastic washing machine drawer could be harmed in anyway.

I have been known to do whole dishwasher loads of plastic toys, and washing machine loads of teddys or dolls clothes!

good tip for toys nannyl, yes have put dispenser in dwasher, was fine

AnnaKeyrules · 16/12/2007 21:25

oh, good idea. Top shelf of dishwasher so it doesn't melt, I suppose?

nannyL · 16/12/2007 22:57

tbh i cant imagine a washing machine drawer would melt on the bottom shelf but i guess if you wanted to be really safe then put it on the top shelf!

AnnaKeyrules · 16/12/2007 23:14

my dishwasher must be on 'furnace' setting, because it often melts stuff (plastic food containers, the tops of baby milk bottles and a rice steamer so far!)

nannyL · 16/12/2007 23:18

oh!

the only things i have melted are bottles for mineral water that i reuse!
