Good morning.

I have been up for what feels like hours with DS1 and it is white with frost outside - jack has certainly visited in N Yorkshire.

DS2 and DH are still in bed (DH did not get in till 3.30 - I hope he had a good night)

Dropped mum home yerterday, so need to visit today. The nurse is coming in to dress her wound.

plans for today

Collect DH car - 20 miles away
Possible walk out with the boys
Wrap pressies
ironing

Tort SO pleased re the table, be careful in the loft (remember my friend)

Jas Nice to see you my Fly mentor

GO nasty bug I hope you feel better soon. I can not believe re school DS1 is 3 in March and it feels like I only gave birth yesterday sometimes.

Bianca Hope you enjoyed your night out

Jen Hope you had a good birthday

Morning to FGS, EHM, Yadda, Yibbersh, Luda, Simply and anyone I may have missed

Jas Playmobile 123 is suitable from 18 months and is so cool. DS2 will be 18 months and DS1 is 2.9.

I think we will go for standard playmobile next year, but i was really impressed, especailly with the puzzle www.playmobil.de/on/demandware.store/Sites-GB-Site/en_GB/Search-Show?cgid=1%2e2%2e3

Morning Everyone

In very serious danger of having a HUGE falling out with Ed. He invades our room at 7. I get up to take him downstairs and all he does is bark orders and instructions and demands at me, no pleases or thank yous just 'I wants' and 'can I haves' Then as I won't put films on for him or rush in and out to keep turning the TV over he goes and tells DH I'm not doing my job properly WTF and where has this come from so I sent him back to bed (he hasn't gone)

Done list

UP
Take Ed downstairs
Clear empties from front room
Light fire
Load and run DW
Take kids table and chairs to atiic
Bring down drying washing to finish off
Load and run td
Take up and hang up wet washing
Shine sink

To Do

Clean hob
S&S worktops
Empty DW and put away
Vac downstairs
Clean bathroom and loo
Wrap pressies
Sort out ironing pile
Do ironing
Get clothes ready for tomorrow and clean shoes
Put Ed's uniform out for morning

Right, coffee time, have nice days

ludaloveschristmas · 16/12/2007 08:17

Morning All

It is still cold and frosty here, luckily the fire stayed in though.

Now...I have read through all the thread, so I'll see what I can remember...

tort what a mare! I'm sorry you have such a difficult decision to make! Maybe you could let xp have them for xmas eve and xmas morning this year...then at least you know you are going to have them next year, as then that will be taking it in turns. You could then have xmas morning with the girls, and maybe plan a special suprise for when the boys come home...maybe keep a few pressies back for the girls, so they can open them with the boys when they come home? You could do something fun in the afternoon, go for a walk, or plan a special xmas meal? Boxing day is always a better day anyway, as you get to have them all and can enjoy them while they are playing with all their new things! I can imagine that really, although you might miss them first thing on xmas day, you then get them for the rest of the day and boxing day, and they don't have to go anywhere in all the excitement (IYSWIM)
Anyway...ramble over...but I hope you find a solution you are happy with.

GO How kind of you , I agree, you'll be rewarded somehow for your kindness

Jas LOL...I think you need to put a new keyboard on your xmas wish list!

Gah!! Can't remember anymore....I hope you are all well anyway

Anyone doing anything good today?
just housework for me....I went and finished off the xmas shopping yesterday...all done now and stocking fillers bought now too....god, I'm glad its done! I am now completely skint, but at least it is all done.

Well, better get on

ludaloveschristmas · 16/12/2007 08:21

xposts! GO My DS barks orders at me too! (I think its a man thing) Completely annoying...I ignore him TBH! he can get whatever himself unless I hear a nice please!
It made me a bit to hear he had reported you!!!! (lol...sorry)

Oh yes...and gibberish...congrats on the new sofa! it sounds lurverly!!!! And just in time for xmas too!

Jas · 16/12/2007 08:42

Morning GO and Luda

Oh, i appears my keyboad just needed a rest

If it goes like that agin I won' be waiting til Chrismas for a new one. It was unreadable in the end, and I had to give up mumsnetting

I don't have a done list, but intend to spend all day trying to catch up on the housework, so I'm going to sart with the morning routine, then strip the beds. Back later.....

BiancaCastafiore · 16/12/2007 08:49

Morning everyone

Got home late from work last night and was then so tired I didn't make it back on here.

Tort I'm sorry you have this difficult time. It must be really hard for you - but rememebr how it was last year when you didn't even have the boys living with you? How things have changed in a year! I hope you and xp can come to an agreeable arrangement.

Jas Hope Santa brings you a keyboard! Didn't you get a new one fairly recently?

Grouchy I want a friend like you! Hope Ed behaves better once the day gets going. My dcs also do the barking thing and I do as Luda says and ignore them until they ask nicely.

Gibberish enjoy the sofa!

EHM your parcel arrived yesterday - thank you very much I've squirreled them away till Christmas....I must get all our cards/parcels sorted today (I feel as though I'm miles behind with it all )

TMH we love playmobile here too, we have loads of the older kids stuff. We bought the kids the advent calender this year and it's been great

FGS, simply, Ruby, yadda Hello

We are going to choose our Christmas tree today We go to a pick-your-own place here in the village. It's become a family tradition, we go along with my parents and make quite an outing of it I'll be making room in the living room this morning.
Then we have a nativity play to go to in the church this evening so I hope by the end of the day to feel all festive and Christmassy (I'm lacking in that feeling atm)

Hope you all have a good day, back later x

BiancaCastafiore · 16/12/2007 08:50

x-posts, glad the keyboard has recovered Jas

BiancaCastafiore · 16/12/2007 09:31

have had row with dh. Really worried about spending Christmas in this lonely marriage

BiancaCastafiore · 16/12/2007 09:33

sorry...shouldn't have posted that...just needed to say it out loud somewhere (iykwim?)

Feeling glum. Will snap out of it, get the house Christmassy and feel better later.

Jas · 16/12/2007 09:34

Bianca I don't know what else to say, but have a from me

ImdreamingofaGROUCHYxmas · 16/12/2007 10:12

Bianca I think we all have days like that with the men in our lives

Ed pulled down a picture from the front room wall (a framed gig poster from The Borderline in London) and lost the hook from the picture rail. Well, in hunting for the hook I've

Wiped the leather sofa
Swept under the sofa
Dusted the 52' of picture rail
Dusted the 52' cornice
Dusted round the front door and fanlight

Suppose it wanted doing before Xmas

Plus I'm staying at home the first couple of weeks that Ed is at full time school and I've found a good project to keep me occupied: Touching up the paintwork in the front room. There are big chips in the skirting boards and scrapes on the doors

DH has just called for breakfast, yum yum so Byeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee xxx

gibberish · 16/12/2007 11:46

bianca grouchy is right. We do all have days/weeks/months/years like that. Hope you can work through it. Is crap though.

Having a very lazy morning. Got a Minette Walters book which aim to spend all day reading

tort sorry about the scrabble game last night! Got completely engrossed in X Factor (stoopid Leon ) and by the time it had finished had had too many glasses of wine to make up even a two letter word

Actually, I've been very good drink-wise. Have stopped drinking mid-week. My skin looks SO much better and I've been sleeping better too. Plus, I've lost a few pounds. Only having a drink on a Saturday evening now. Feel so much better for it.

BiancaCastafiore · 16/12/2007 11:57

Thanks everyone at wollowing in self pity (again ) Dh and I have been this way for ages, I have no idea how to mend it all

On a plus note, dh took the kids for a walk so I could hoover and sort the living room ready for the tree. I've cleared a space so we're all ready The decs are all down from the loft. I can't deny that despite enjoying Christmas my heart sank a little at all the tat which goes with it lol! I know that by New Year I'll be aching to get it all packed away and have the house back to normal - the living room always looks all nice and big once the tree has gone - we always get a bit carried away once in the Christmas tree field have a HUGE tree

Better go and get our coats on ready for an hour or two finding the perfect tree, see you later, and thanks again for being kind x

gibberish · 16/12/2007 12:03

Have a good day bianca. And don't worry about wallowing. It's good to be able to talk about what's bothering you. We'll always listen.

Need to get off here and do some washing.

BiancaCastafiore · 16/12/2007 12:22

Thanks Gibberish, you're all very kind, it's good to know I'm not alone.
Right, better get on or I'll be in danger of starting to cry and once I start I don't think I'll be able to stop

Jas · 16/12/2007 12:30

We defiitely all have times like that. I also have the can't start crying or I won't stop feeling at times. I hope you feel brighter with the decs up.

I've done the moning stuff, sent dp shopping, hoovered, stripped the bed, sorted the dressing up box and made flapjacks with dd1.
I really should get dressed then I'll stop for a cuppa and a piece of warm fj

TheMincePiedMadHouse · 16/12/2007 14:06

Good afternoon all

Bianca I hope you feel better once you have the tree up. We all feel that way sometimes. No advice from me, although I am more than happy to be a listening ear.

waves to everyone else.

well have done the morning stuff, had roast dinner (must take some to mum - bah), dropped the Playmobil stuff at MIL and FIL's

Washed the cars with DS1 (DS2 napping) - it was so much fun, although we had to change him in to dry clothes and then had steeming milky hot chocolate, as we were all shivering. The cars were so muchy - but we only soaped them off, no drying them it was too cold.

Planning on getting the ironing done at some point and also starting the wrapping.

We take the tree down just after boxing day, as we go to Hereford for the new year and I like the house to be tidy before we go

OP posts:
TheMincePiedMadHouse · 16/12/2007 18:09

well - we have done our duty I have been and put the lights on mums tree and also some decs up for her.

She was moaning that my brother had not been round and what ungrateful children we are

I did not give her chance to moan at me, told her I had offered to get her for Sunday lunch adn that we came round as soon as DS2 finnished his nap and that I had plated her up a dinner.

Anyway we are back home, boys are in the bath and then it is dancing - who is going to be in the final. Catch you later

ImdreamingofaGROUCHYxmas · 16/12/2007 18:53

Hello again

Didn't get the mantle dusted. DH chose to tidy the attic/office (yay) So I was helping to empty boxes, divide stuff into re-cycleables/non recyclables and take down 2 flights to the appropriate outside bins. Plus Ed benefitted from getting his hands on my stash of my toys from my student days.

Had a bath, washed my hair and went for a nap

Sorted out the ironing, did it. Ed's uniform readt for morning and I have clothes for my interview tomorrow

Oh and I wrapped DH's xmas pressies, Why do I always feel I have never got enough stuff for him? Also wrapped BF & hubby's, Dad and partners and stuff for family from Ed.

DH has been driven mad by Ed today. ah well, it happens to us all

TMH you're still getting it in the neck

Bianca Hope you're feeling less bleak now

Tea almost ready. Nice to have a DH who cooks really. Shame the housework and kitchen potering is down to me.

FrostyGlassSlipper · 16/12/2007 19:38

Bianca - email me if you want.

Madhouse - sounds tough. Has your Mum always been like this or is it the stress talking?

I just found out that a close friends DS has a tumour. He is 6 months old. I am so shocked and sad.
