Why why why does this bloody dryer need to sing at me? Help!

New Samsung dryer has arrived, it makes all kinds of bings and beeps. It sings a stupidly long tune at the end of the cycle because god forbid you forget your washing.

I think I've turned off the end of cycle rubbish but I can't seem to find anything that just mutes the whole thing.

Does anyone have a singing Samsung?!

I made up lyrics to song at the end, I quite like it. It sounds so proud of its self.

We have the washing machine and tumble dryer and honestly I love the singing Blush I think once you get used to it you can learn to love it!

There was a similar thread on here years ago and the poster said something along the lines of “why the fuck does my dryer insist on singing the song of it’s people whenever it completes a cycle?” I still think of my dryer as singing the song of it’s people whenever mine starts driving me nuts.

TuftyMarmoset · 27/10/2021 14:55

I actually think that’s good - my washing machine doesn’t make any sound when it finishes so I keep forgetting about it and finding gross damp washing hours later!

@WildFlowerBees

I can't even send it back now as we've used it. Day 1 and I already hate it. Why must everything make noise these days?
Agreed.

I hate my Hotpoint washer dryer because of all the beeping. I hate my De Longhi microwave the most though. Every sodding key or turn creates a loud beep and when something is done, it beeps FIVE times - longly and loudly - to tell you. I hate it - its like using a Xylophone.

Ive got a dehumidifier that beeps at every touch too. Why?

If anyone knows how to remove the beeper please share AND share your silent, none-noisy appliance recommendations with us too.

@insancerre

I had to do this to my hoover dishwasher but have no idea how I did it My old dishwasher used to sigh heavily half way through the cycle I knew exactly how it felt

I feel your pain. It feels like every time I sit down, a machine starts beeping at me (washer, dryer, dishwasher). The dryer leaves less than 1 minute between series of beeps. It's driving me demented

WildFlowerBees · 27/10/2021 17:43

This bloody thing is wretched.
Turn it on doo loo doo de
Turn the dial ding a ling for every single programme.
Open the door beep beep beep
Turn it on brring

Shut the f* up! I know I've opened the door I know which programme I've chosen and I'm aware you're drying.

I need to find the speaker and deal with it. I hope there's a software update soon to shut it up.
