Anyone bought a simba mattress?

Not sure where to post this. Has anyone bought a simba mattress (just seen them advertised on Facebook) and have any feedback?

We bought a simba a few months back, think it might the called the elite.

MuttsNutts · 20/10/2021 16:10

I did but sent it back because it was too firm for me. Got an Emma instead and that suits me better.

dudsville · 20/10/2021 17:05

Interesting. I think it's too sift, but not so much so that I will bother with returning. I don't think. What was collecting it like?

Leah2005 · 20/10/2021 17:26

I think I might not bother - one too soft, one too firm - I want one that's just right - said Goldilocks Grin

Yes and I love it!!

SylvanasWindrunner · 20/10/2021 17:29

We have an Emma and it's amazing!

Cervicalflop · 20/10/2021 17:31

I have a simba (hybrid luxe? I think)
Its a bit too soft with the memory foam layer and two months after purchase it still has a bit of a factory smell, which is annoying. It was DH's choice, which he regrets lol

dudsville · 23/10/2021 11:55

You're still within the timeframe to return Cervica though, aren't you? We are still considering returning it. It is definitely a massive improvement on our previous mattress. My back trouble has improved a lot, and it is well made, but the give is just soft, so for us it just doesn't feel worth the price we paid even though we got it during a sale.

lemmein · 23/10/2021 12:36

I have the Eve hybrid - I love it, but since getting it I've woke up most days very sweaty - an issue I've never had before (I'm normally freezing all the time). Apparently its a common problem with foam mattresses? I've bought 'cooling' sheets which help a bit, but might be something you want to consider before purchasing.

Saying that, I would still buy it again, thought I'm fully expecting to spontaneously combust in my sleep when I hit the menopause Hmm

Cervicalflop · 23/10/2021 13:47

Dudsville, yes you're right we are currently considering whether to return it. I agree with you it is very soft, you should see me trying to get up off it, it's quite a sight Grin

Glitterandunicorns · 23/10/2021 13:51

We have the Simba and love it so much! It is like sleeping on a cloud!

Leah2005 · 24/10/2021 18:16

@lemmein full on menopause here and already hot at night so that'll be a no from me Grin

I have the Zumba which we bought because my bed was too soft on my side and giving me backache. The son a is hard as a rock and also made me sweat. With an extremely expensive goose down topper from John Lewis on top it’s now comfortable enough I suppose and by back doesn’t hurt. But I wouldn’t recommend them tbh

JazzHandsYeah · 25/10/2021 23:14

Also have a Simba, and agree with PP, (perfect description by the way), it is like sleeping on a cloud!

PurplePansy05 · 26/10/2021 23:03

We bought a Simba and returned it as it sagged after 3 months of use. The replacement Simba is even worse, started sagging after days and DH and I both wake up with a bad back every morning. It's too soft and too hot as well. It's definitely going back and we're not buying from them again. Dreadful.

ABitOfAShitShow · 26/10/2021 23:07

Love mine and the two people who’ve been lucky enough to share my bed since I got it have been very complimentary.

Subbaxeo · 29/10/2021 07:04

We bought one but we returned it as I found it very clammy and too much ‘give’. We bought a naturals mattress from John Ryan which we’ve had 4 years now and it’s still a joy getting into bed. It was twice the price but we know we’ll have it a long time.

morechocolateneededtoday · 30/10/2021 23:12

Did lots of research when needed a new one a year back and found that majority of advice was to avoid rolled mattresses and those that do not need to be flipped. The spring count is overstated because microsprings are used, any mattresses that are not turned over have half the life span and read lots of reviews about them sagging in the middle.

Got a naturals mattress comprising of wool and pocket springs and absolutely delighted with it. Was a close call between that and latex; think would have been happy with latter too if I am honest

Leah2005 · 01/11/2021 08:18

@Subbaxeo looked at their website briefly over the weekend. I think we will be going with them but just want to do a little more research on the company and their guarantee. @morechocolateneededtoday that's a good point you make although our current mattress is no turn and has been great. Replacing now after 12 years. Is yours a John Ryan one too?

Just sent my simba hybrid back. Occasionally had lovely nights sleep, but mostly just waking up every time I turned over. I think I was too fidgety for it. Same got the Emma.

I've now got a more traditional mattress from a local bed seller. Friend in the know said most mattresses are made in a few factories and to look for springs, if you can turn it and materials. It's fantastic and I'm pleased to have bought from a local company. It was less than £500 and feels like it cost ££££££s

morechocolateneededtoday · 02/11/2021 20:47

Ours is from Warren Evans as we are local to their warehouse and could go try it before buying. Very similar to what John Ryan offer from what I could see but fewer options. Very happy nonetheless

Agree with comment above about local business, very happy with service and product
