Induction hobs

Sorry if you are all fed up with this topic but I’m really stuck. I have a brand new induction hop and I don’t know how to protect it. Do I buy a glass protector but it’s feet will rest on the hob. That can’t be good. The thick material ones I heard can set the alarm off. Help!

Why do you need to protect it? Protect it from what?

ParadiseLaundry · 06/10/2021 17:33

I don't think you need to protect it really. They don't scratch easily and you can clean them very easily.

I don’t think you can put anything on it to protect it. Just don’t throw things down on it and teach everyone else in the house to treat it with respect!

I just make sure I don’t slam things down on it and I wipe up any spills after every use. I love it!!

They don't need protecting

Kitchen towel under the pans while you’re using them. It isn’t gas so the towel won’t burn and you can use it for clean up afterwards too

I have some soft silicone pot rests/ trivets that I use when resting hot pans from the oven on the induction.

Whilst the induction clearly is designed to get very hot in use, I just feel better that when it is off and cold, I don't accidentally bang and shock it when I put down a very hot and heavy cast iron/ Pyrex pan from the oven onto the surface.
