Duvet recommendations?

We need a new duvet. Any recommendations??

Spec:
Reasonably priced but feels luxurious!
Winter tog rating
King size
Lasts well, filling doesn't separate

Background:
We got our current one from m&s a number of years ago but almost from the word go it felt as if the 'filling' inside had separated into little pockets, leaving portions of the duvet empty. Hard to explain! We should have returned it but didn't really notice it initially. Anyway, now I'm cold and I've had enough! I want something that feels luxurious!

Personally really love my Dorma Full Forever 13.5 tog duvet bought several years ago from Dunelm. Satisfying weight and crinkle. Went there having reserved a duck feather one but they had a load hanging up so you could test them - very glad for having had a feel of them before buying and switching to this one!

It depends what budget reasonably priced is, I have a Baavet wool duvet that is lovely and warm and cosy, it's lasted 10 years so far and still looks and feels like new. They have a bargain box on the website where they sell slightly imperfect duvets much cheaper.

Watching!
I want a thick winter duvet, but not feather as am vegetarian.

I have a wool duvet. Can't remember the brand but it is absolutely lovely, and because it's natural wool is good at regulating temperature.

Ooh interesting! Thanks all so far. Off to Google!

In a holiday apartment atm. I am allergic to feathers and down and the duvets felt like down so Ihad a look.
Soak and sleep. Little pocket squares sewn in so filling doesn’t move around.
I'll be buying one when I get home.
My favourite is wool. I overheat easily so wehave 2 x singles. Mine is a 2tog wool. Blissful.

Bugger, I try to avoid wool too...

Baavet.

Following with interest. I like a duvet to be quite thick and heavy so it feels snuggly but I easily get hot. Not sure if there is a duvet which caters for that. Any recommendations would be good.

I’ve just gone from a double bed to a superking size. Used to have a wool duvet, decided to try goose down and feather this time, wish I’d just gone with a new wool one instead. I used the same wool duvet year round and it was snuggly in winter but not too warm in summer either. The new down and feather duvet will probably be lovely in winter but I’ve had a few hot sweats during the night.

Also used to have a baavet duvet but I wouldn’t rate that brand - it didn’t wash well and the covers are cream which shows through on white bed linen.

Have a look at www.finebedding.co.uk/collections/all.
We have one of the duvets made from recycled plastic and its fantastic! Really light and warm and the filling stays in place.

I’m really happy with my Soak and Sleep “Soft as Down” duvets. It has the lofty, airy sound and feel of a down duvet - without torturing some poor ducks in the process. I have had guests complain about their supposed feather allergy when using one, so it must be a good imposter!

These are all 9 tog though, with electric blankets for winter warmth. I think a heavy tog would potentially be hot and sweaty, used in summer. Get a modern electric blanket- you’ll never look back!

Whether you go for microfibre, wool or down, I’d recommend getting a dust mite proof duvet encasement. It will help keep dirt, sweat and mites out of your duvet, therefore helping it last longer.
