Cleaning with a baby

My house needs a good clean and decluttering. I used to keep on top of it by working part time and cleaning when the children were at school but now I have a 14 month old.
He's not walking but is, crawling and trying to stand, he's also in to everything and doesn't nap much.
Any tips for getting the house sorted with an inquisitive baby? Last time I tried to start I found him trying to put his shapes in the DVD player!

I let mine be inquisitive! Didn't do any harm if their isn't anything to harm them around an I got on with my jobs. My 18mo will sit an watch mr tumble with a few cars to play with so that gives me chance to get some things done !

I used to pop up a travel cot fill it with balls and make a mini ball pit for when I needed to nip to bathroom. I tended to bring tasks i needed to do into the living area put on the radio and do the tasks with him "helping" or dancing around. I used to pop a duvet in the bath and pop in soft toys when i was cleaning the bathroom, had them"help" sort the laundry. Both loved the hoover and used to be very exited to "help".
It is a tricky one - and there is a bit of learning to accept not everything is possible all the time. Myself and my DH used to spend 15 - 30 minutes post kids bedtime getting a few household tasks done.

We have a cleaner for the big clean, but I have a nearly walking 8 month old and I tend to stick him in his jumperoo, bouncer seat or high chair when I need to do jobs.

A travel cot is a great idea too.
