I was only thinking about you this morning!

Our dds (5 and nearly 3) can:
Set table, clear plates at the end
Help tidy toys away (they MOAN about this)
Dust with a big flappy hairy thing on a stick - looks like a dog's tail, YKWIM
And dd1 has to put away coat, shoes and lunchbox (empty it 1st) when she comes in from school.

Good luck.
(sassy)

collecting all dirty plates, cups, bowls
loading washing machine
scrape plates and put in sink.
Clean bathroom with some inoccuous spray cleaner (they seem to really enjoy this, oddly)

heap the praise on. I don't tell my boys to tidy up, I tell them to make my front room look beautiful.

my 5yo (reception child);

  • takes his plate from the table and puts it in the dishwasher
  • sometime makes his own breakfast in the morning
  • puts away coat and shoes when we come in
  • clears out his lunchbox when he gets home from school and leaves it next to the sink to be washed (despite teaching him to pack the waste in the plastic box, the lunchbos is always covered in yoghurt)
  • puts away his toys (when asked, not off his own bat, but he knows if i have to put them away then they aren't going to be somewhere he can find them!)
  • helps generally i.e. puts something in the bin if I ask him, goes and lets the dog out/in when asked etc.

when he was 3yo he probably did nothing apart from the shoes/coat thing and tidying toys away.

My just three year old daughter can:

  • put her crockery and cutlery in the dishwasher, having first emptied her cup and cleared her plate into the bin
  • sort laundry and put it in the machine, put in laundry detergent and turn the machine on
  • hang up wet laundry on clothes horse
  • help (???) wash kitchen floor, front of bottom kitchen cupboard doors
  • swipe feather duster about
  • make me a cup of coffee (espresso machine)

Also put away own coat, shoes, hang up dresses, put away clean socks. Turn on/off lights as she enters/leaves room/house.

my nearly 3 year old helps with the following

loading/emptying washing machine
hanging out washing - holding pegs
tidying toys
cleans patio doors with windoline wipe instead of baby wipe
takes dishes to sink
dusts
helps with her wee sister getting nappies etc

Setting table for dinner
Clearing table after dinner

Putting own clothes into wash basket

Tidying own bedroom/playroom - might be easier to break this down into mroe specific tasks if for a star chart though, and easier if lots of labelled storage

Puts school uniform tidy after taking them off, ready for next day

Makes sure things are in her satchel ready for school

If no dishwasher - washing or drying dishes

Yorkie not sure how old your DC's are but our 4 year old
sets table
clears table (with guidance)
clears toys
tidies own bedroom
makes his bed every morning
puts his clothes into laundry basket each night before his bath
helps me with cooking (particularly enjoys peeling carrots and potatoes)
