Please recommend me some tea towels

We have accumulated a variety of tea towels over the years which are at the end of their life... I'd like a new set, ideally waffle or other absorbent material, ideally in bright colours or designs to complement a quite neutral kitchen. This seems to be a holy grail! Recommendations gratefully received

I got bright waffle teatowels from John Lewis, within the last 12 months. I chose mustard, there were other colours.

Thanks for that. Are they any good? Just spotted some but the reviews suggested they aren't absorbent.

Linen union glass cloths, about £27 for 12 from Amazon. They dry well without streaking, wash on a boil wash and last forever it seems.

I got kitchenaid ones from Costco. They wash really well and actually absorb when you dry dishes.
They came in packs of 6 for around £10. The pack I got was shade of blue/grey. They had red from memory and I’m sure a couple of other colours.

They were fine, but not as absorbent as ordinary tea towels maybe.

I also like Linen Union (but not from Amazon as they are tax-dodging, employee-abusing arseholes).

I get mine from Dunelm. Nice designs, they also have a loop to hang in my cupboard knobs perfectly.
However, I don’t dry the pots with them as unless you use a fresh-from-the-drawer clean one, all you’re doing is spreading bacteria back on your clean pots. ( I did home economics at Uni and this was one of the experiments we carried out 🤣)
Does anyone iron their tea towels? I do, and I’m ashamed to say that my DDs don’t! They’re slobs…

I always iron tea towels. It's always so lovely looking at the freshly ironed tea towels in the drawer when I take one out.

I don't iron clothes let alone bloody tea towels. I use about four per day as use clean each time, wouldn't iron 30 tea towels a week.

The heat of the iron has a sterilising effect if you wash tea towels at a lower temperature.

Seconding the linen glass cloths. I put 4-6 in a pile and iron them as a pile, turn over and iron again, usually as iron is heating up. then fold up. Takes minutes.

These. A bit pricey but wash and dry really well, dry the dishes well, look the part and keep their colour.
