Bathroom flooring

We are having our house renovated and need to choose floor for family bathroom. It is a big room so will be lots of sq metres. Budget running out as work on house runs on...

I don't know what to put on floor. Tiles I think too cold. Don't want carpet. Considering cork tiles as quite eco, hard wearing and warm, but are they too 1970s?

Opinions please!

Just be careful that it's not slippy with wet feet.

weasle - i can dig out and send you my sample of the 'dots' if you like. i liked it coz its kind of reminiscen of the rubber flooring, but cheaper, and soft/warmer too - bonus!

yes, it does need an installer... i would think. has to be glued down and you want to make sure the floor underneath is ready - flat and clean etc.

if you get the supplier to install, is easier to get them to replace if they cock it up (there was a thread on here about someone whos amtico floor had a bump under it and they had to replace the lot i think).

having said that, get a quote from the flooring suppliers for fitting and then get a quote from your own (trusted)person too and compare.

pointy - dont you worry that you have turned into your granny, when you say things like " you need a nice lino" LOL

and a little crocheted dolly to cover the loo roll

and a fluffy mat around the loo to catch the drips

pointydog · 25/11/2007 10:05

yes, I was imagining myself saying 'you need a nice lino' a la les dawson housewife

tiles without underfloor heating are a nightmare. unless you like frostbitten toes.

Not with a decent radiator and heated towel rail in there
