£80 for 45-50 minutes cleaning?

I started with a whole clean from molly maids then a fortnightly. The spent about 45 minutes here and billed me £80. Perhaps I'm losing touch but this seems really excessive to me and am tempted to cancel. I also pay for mums and they took an hour there and also £80.

Is £80 for 45 minutes of two cleaners right?

Ask for recommendations for a cleaner from friends or colleagues.

That's a good tip. I think most of my friends here have the same cleaner or have had at some point. Just make sure they're insured though. My DCousin employed a cleaner who broke a rather expensive vase then said that they weren't covered.

That’s insane. £12-14 hr is standard here, pricey SW London. You might pay more for a one off job (as it’s harder work and no repeat work benefit) but not that much more.

I knew this would be about Molly Maids before I opened the thread :) My experience with them is that they're overpriced and inflexible - when my Dad was showing signs of Alzheimer's and would book them to come clean and then refuse to let them in, I asked them not to take bookings from him anymore, but to go through me. They agreed to this. What did they then do? Took a booking from him, turned up, he wouldn't let them in, and they insisted on charging for the visit anyway (£75 + for two people for - usually - less than an hour). I cancelled them and employed a lovely cleaner who worked for herself - paid her £15 an hour for two hours every other week - she was happy, we were happy, and Molly Maids can go do one :D

Crazy price

That's extortionate. As my dear departed FIL would say "thats twice they've worked here now - first and last!'

I also got a quote mollymaid for my elderly parents but found the price way too high compared to other local providers. I ended up booking a cleaner from maid2clean for them.
