Do you have a mattress protector on your bed?

My mattress has a topper and that can be washed but I just wondered if everyone has a protector? I just realised I have recently taken off the dc horrible waterproof ones but never replaced them. Can anyone recommend a waterproof protector that doesn’t rustle??

I got one from Amazon a couple years ago and just put in "fabric water proof mattress protector" and read through reviews and made sure people said it didn't rustle! It's fine and does the job but dcs have a great slumber down waterproof mattress protectors that are soft and feel like fabric and work great, nothings ever leaked through, you can get them at Argos quite cheap

Yes I do. I'm surprised how many people don't use them considering how expensive mattresses are. Mine is a towelling topped one. It doesn't rustle.

I have a padded non waterproof one for our bed , (I dont wash it as often as I should because it takes about 3 days to dry!!) and washable waterproof ones for kids beds (although they dont really need them anymore)
I get them all from dunelm and they're not too rustly or plasticky.

All our mattresses have waterproof covers that don't rustle.

We've got ones from John Lewis on the DCs single beds which are excellent, no-one realises they are waterproof but they are excellent (used through the potty traing years). Could do with a waterproof double mattress protector for our own bed though.

Brolly sheets do nice non rustly waterproof protectors.

All our beds have brolly sheets underneath regular fabric mattress protectors. Brolly sheets are especially handy if you have a bedwetter or if someone has a tummy bug, as they are designed to go on top of your sheet and can be easily removed.

I have them on all beds. No waterproof ones though - too hot, sweaty and no tiny children visiting overnight.

I use a non waterproof one from John Lewis, then a brushed cotton sheet followed by the fitted sheet and I think this provides enough protection. Like a PP said I think I'd find waterproof too hot.

Yes, though they are not waterproof. I also use pillow protectors.
I'm in a holiday let and there's neither on the bed 😬

I have a padded one from Dunelm. Actually have 2 so I can have one to wash and one to put on because it does take days to dry.
Similar on kids beds

We bought Hippychick waterproof fabric ones when the DC were moving into beds for the first time. They’re now late teens and their toddler beds are long gone but the sheets are still going strong and I’ve bought ones for our bed as well. Not hot or rustly at all.

We have a hippy chick fitted mattress protector that is waterproof on our bed and the children have John Lewis waterproof mattress protectors on their cot beds. Both great and no rustling.
I am in search of a mattress protector and fitted sheets that will fit snugly on my sons bunk bed mattress which is only 15cm deep if anyone has any experience of this?

Not waterproof but yes mattress protector. It’s saved us a few times when I’ve accidentally spilled juice or water on the bed. It’s not waterproof but takes the brunt of the soak and whips off quick enough to protect the mattress. Especially from sweat stains. Same for pillow protectors too.

I do. I think it was from the White Company.

When I was a child, we always had a blanket between the mattress and sheets - I don't know if mattress protectors existed as specific items, spart from waterproof ones for small children or incontinent adults. But a layer between the sheet and mattress makes it more comfortable.
