Which is the best one to cope with long hair? We also have lots of stairs and landings, how do you stop them going down the stairs? Also we have carpet, quarry tiles, vinyl and laminated tiles, can they hoover all these surfaces?
My Eufy has sensors so it doesn't launch itself off the top step, but you can also use magnetic strips to stop them going past certain points/block entry into different rooms (mine came with enough to do one double and a single door width, but you can buy extra).
We have tiles, Amtico, wooden floors, woven rugs, and short pile carpets. It does best on the hard floors (as well as our Miele) and the rugs are well hoovered. It is no where near equal to the performance of the Miele on the carpets, which is particularly noticeable around the edges. As the carpets are only upstairs, we don't wear shoes/eat up there so it is slow to need hoovering, and the DCs' rooms aren't suited to Eufy (the height he can scale means he can get into the ground floor of their dolls houses etc) I tend to not bother moving him upstairs to clean and just do it the 'old fashioned' way. He might perform better on carpet if let loose on it everyday (so there's never a build up), but that would involve carrying him up there everyday and I CBA.
We have a number of furry pets, and Eufy has no problem coping with their shedding. I also have 2DCs with long hair. This tends to get wrapped in the brushes or around wheels, but is easily cleaned out using the little tool it comes with. I clear out the hair every couple of weeks.
