Washing clothes

I wondered if anyone else struggled with this - I have a couple of Fatface dresses that are lovely, but for some reason no matter how much deodorant I put on, they seem to get whiffy under the armpits. I don't have this trouble with any of the rest of my wardrobe, and don't suffer generally with body odour. I wash on a 40 wash - but it's like it doesn't get fully clean?

Is there anything I can put on the clothing before it goes in the wash to try and help?

Are you using bio detergent or non-bio? I have had success with school shirts by spraying the armpits with antibacterial kitchen surface spray before putting the wash on! Just because it was all I had at hand, but it worked.

I have a bottle of liquid dettol and if something was a bit smelly after being washed then I'd wash it with half a cap of dettol. Are they synthetic fabrics?

Are they synthetic?
There are some tops or dresses that I routinely treat the pits of before washing, either by soaking in detergent or just rubbing with a bar of soap and lathering.
With some of DH's shirts (cotton or otherwise) I put a bit of extra laundry detergent on the pits to avoid deodorant stains/whiffiness.
Apart from the temperature are you dojng them in a short wash?

A squirt of white vinegar should do the trick too .
