We have found moths mainly in the spare room where we prob don't Hoover very often and but it's where we store a lot of our jumpers etc, and they have devoured some cashmere jumpers

What's the best way to get rid of them and ideally safe to use around cats.

I have hoovered and washed wardrobes and clothes. Don't have space in freezer to put all my jumpers in.

It is extremely difficult to get rid of them once they have become established.
I think you will need to use a chemical killer ( can you lock the cats out of the spare room) plus regular vacuuming until you are sure that there are no more moths to lay eggs.
Have you washed all the clothes in the spare room, not just ones visibly affected. You should do this on the hottest wash they will go on. Tumble dry if you can and then iron anything that will stand ironing.
Then divide up and put into smallish vacuum pack bags and then in plastic storage boxes with tight fitting lids. If there is any ongoing infestation the bags will stop it spreading between sets of clothing and the bags plus storage boxes stop more moths getting in
If your carpet has any wool in it you need to treat this chemically and then vacuum extremely regularly.
Also check anywhere else there are natural fibres such as curtains, cushions and even fabric linings under divan beds or sofas. Vacuum regularly all of these and either wash or treat with spray at the first sign of any infection
Good luck!

You can also put jumpers etc in a bag in the deep freeze for a quick destruction of the pests but as educatingarti said it is a long process to get rid of them. I haven't managed yet :(
