Drop bleach diluted with water

BrownEyedGirl80 · 08/06/2021 18:29

Leave to soak

ButtercupSquash · 08/06/2021 18:32

Thanks @BrownEyedGirl80. Has it worked for you?

I use a Milton (or supermarket brand) sterilising tablet. Leave it in overnight & wash in the morning and it brings them up like new!

I just bleach my mugs occasionally as PP said. Works a charm!

Bicarbonate of soda on a sponge and scrub. It comes off really easily

ButtercupSquash · 08/06/2021 19:51

Bicarb on a wet cloth was my first line of attack - it had no effect whatsoever. I am a bit nervous of using bleach on anything ceramic, but I suppose they don’t last forever, anyway.
Thanks everyone

Salt on a damp cloth should do it. Also try changing your brand of tea. I drink the Tesco peppermint tea. It's lovely one it doesn't stain at all.

Bleach

321zyx · 08/06/2021 20:26

Bleach

ViperAtTheGatesOfDawn · 08/06/2021 20:27

Bleach is absolutely fine on ceramic.

I usually do all the teaspoons at the same time.

Abzs · 09/06/2021 12:34

Sodium percarbonate (mineral bleach) and hot water. You can buy it as home brew steriliser or laundry bleach.

ButtercupSquash · 09/06/2021 16:14

@Confusedandshaken. Thanks for the Tesco tip. Is that the brand you use @Vicliz24?
Thanks all.

A magic sponge. Quicker and easier I think and can easily be done while washing the dishes 👍🏻

GhoulWithADragonTattoo · 10/06/2021 07:40

I just use neat washing up liquid.

DoodleLovin · 10/06/2021 07:44

Toothpaste! Cover it in toothpaste, let it sit for a minute and scrub. I do that to all my mugs regularly- looks perfect!

2tired2bewitty · 10/06/2021 07:49

I discovered that hot chocolate from the machine at work left overnight removed tea stains from my mug, not sure what it was doing to my insides Confused

Chemenger · 10/06/2021 07:50

Sugar on a piece of damp kitchen towel will scrub it off.

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 10/06/2021 07:52

Vanish oxi action. Works brilliantly on white sinks too! Just leave it soaking for a while.

ButtercupSquash · 10/06/2021 16:48

A bleach-based mould remover left on for nearly 25 minutes has just left about three black dots. Thanks.
I think perhaps I’ll use a beer glass for peppermint from now on.
