Oven on blink - mend or replace?

We bought a Kenwood Rangemaster in 2005. It has a big oven and a little oven (electric) and a gas hob. The hob and the little oven are still working OK but the big oven has had issues for some time and it's now not heating up properly. Sometimes it gets there in the end, but it's unpredictable and unreliable. Obviously this is no good. Is it worth trying to get it repaired, or should we bite the bullet and try to replace it? Is it even possible to get ovens repaired, and would it likely be more expensive than buying a new one?

Thanks in advance!

Unless an appliance is really cheap I always find out if it's worth repairing

Of course ovens in general can be repaired but I you'd need to find out your specific cost. It's not something you can generalise about

I'd usually give repair one shot, and if it breaks again after that it's gone!

Agree give it one go at fixing- Could be heating element or thermostat if it's not getting to temperature and they are surprisingly easy ( for anyone half competent at DIY) to replace. Look at videos on you tube of your exact model and see if it's something you could manage.

Thanks all. @notwhyicamehere, I am utterly clueless about DIY, but my husband is pretty good, so I'll see if I can persuade to make time in his busy schedule (retired Hmm) to see if he thinks he could sort it out. I'd forgotten how useful YouTube is for things like this.

I'd look at repairing but you may find you can't get the parts. We had to replace a 2001 Belling a couple of years ago for that reason, which was annoying as I preferred it to the new one.

It's 16 years old, I would put that at end of life and look for a replacement rather than spend any money on it at this stage.

Try espares or partmaster, also see help on the UK Whitegoods forum. Or call an appliance repair place.
Cookers don't have a lot of moving parts, most likely it will be the element or the thermostat.
