Where do you store potatoes?

The only place thats worked for me has been in the veg drawer in the fridge, I've tried a cupboard, in a sack, dark cool places, they all sprout things within a couple of days.

I know the fridge isn't the best so if anyone has a foolproof way please share?

@LostInTime - About a couple of weeks, a few may start sprouting towards the end, but they don't go green or anything.

Was the cupboard next to the cooker or an appliance?

I use a cloth sack in a cupboard. If had issues would put them into the shed or garage.
