i rarely iron anyway but these 2 things i can never not iron cos they always look so creased when i fetch them in off the line. is there a foolproof way to get around this or do i have to hold onto the iron for the moment?

do you have a tumble dryer?

PrettyCandles · 12/11/2007 09:50

Pay an ironing service or take them to the dry-cleaners.

Perhaps think of all of the things that you DONT have to iron and think that if the only things you do are these its not so bad!

nappyaddict · 12/11/2007 12:56

nope, no tumble dryer.

I had a pleated skirt when I was a child. My mother used to sew down the pleats every time she washed it and ironed it. Needless to say, she didn't wash that skirt very often.

chuck it,
or get someone else to do it

For the linen, buy a size too small so the creases get pushed out when you put it on. It always goes really baggy after a couple of minutes wearing it anyway.

Seriously though, I never iron my linen trousers and only vaguely do the sleeves of the one shirt i have. The trick is line drying and a hefty shake before hanging them on the line.

No advice re the pleats, I possess nothing pleated for my sanity.
