Is there any way to fix this or do I have to chalk it up to experience and kiss goodbye to a hundred quid? Couldn't tell at all when bringing it into the house and now it's...obvious

You can get an anti tobacco spray here (Fr) It majors on mint ess oil. I make my own too (we don't smoke but it works against any unwanted smells, also moths and flies etc.) .

Give it a good spray everywhere of your dresser (including the back and inside)

I wonder if teatree or eucalyptus would work. A few drops in water or oil?

Cypress is very good too Redsquirrel To be properly effective you need about 12 drops in a cup and 1\3 of water, shake it well before spraying. This works against mice and moths as well. Grin I generally use the water and ess. oil neat but 6 drops of an alcohol (like vodka) works as a fixative in it.
