Soak & Sleep Hungarian down duvet - is it worth it?

So many times I’ve spent £££s on what I thought was going to be the perfect duvet only to be sorely disappointed. Current one is down but goes so flat it barely feels like a duvet - we might as well sleep under blankets. It doesn’t fill out any cover and you end up with about 20cm of empty fabric at the top end - not comfortable at all.

So what I want to know is - is the much recommended Hungarian down duvet by Soak & Sleep any different? Is it the sumptuous and thick and squashy duvet of my dreams? Or will I end up being disappointed again?

I was looking at this until I did a bit of research about the cruelty of down, even when labelled ethically sourced. I've got a synthetic Soak & Sleep duvet - still not environmentally sound, but ... and have been pleased with it. Two years on, I still like it, but I think all fillings will settle and be less 'sumptuous, tick and squashy' after daily use.

We have two down duvets. One from Dunelm (9yrs) and one from John Lewis that I think is feather and down rather than just down (7yrs). And they’re both still excellent. Poofy and thick. I didn’t know down could go flat unless it go wet?

We have a silk filled duvet from S&S and it’s wonderful. At first I was a bit worried as it is much thinner than a normal duvet, but now I’d vpnever have anything else. We have a woollen blanket from Melin Tregwynt that we put over the top for the very coldest nights, but otherwise it works as it is all year round.

We've got that exact one and love it.
