Does anyone have one of those stickers on their front door that says not junk mail, no leaflets, no charity bags’ etc, and does it work ?

We do.

We still get some, but I suppose no way to know if we’d get more without the sticker.

It did stop the local free newspaper.

There is a postie on tiktok and she said there are things that have to be delivered, even if they are junk mail.
But they probably stop charity bags etc 😁

Yes. Also have a camera so I can see how many people are turned away.

I have also filled out the Royal Mail no more junk mail form - you have to redo it every 2-3 years which stops unaddressed junk mail so all the leaflets and the to the householder stuff that doesn't have your address on as well. It's really noticeable when our usual postman is off because we get all that and it's a lot.

As part of the same sign it says no religious callers and no selling at the door - there's a whole bunch on ebay that include all sorts of options. No politicians, no chuggers etc.

Mine was removed and put in the bin by someone delivering charity bags

RampantIvy · 15/03/2021 07:44

I find the charity bags very useful. I am taking a couple of them filled with clothing to the clothing bank later today.

Shakirasma · 15/03/2021 07:46

I use any unwanted charity bags as bin liners.

DinosaurDiana · 15/03/2021 20:56

I don’t want unnecessary stuff being put through my door as it makes the dog bark.
Plus it’s bad for the environment.

I filled out the Royal Mail form to stop unaddressed mail too.

RJnomore1 · 21/03/2021 15:32

Given that you can’t get a plastic bag to carry your shopping home without paying for it, how is it legal to put unwanted ones through doors? Some weeks I have 3 different ones!

Complete the No junk Mail form with Royal Mail and look and see if your local police force has any no cold calling/soliciting stickers. I have one and although I get junk Mail with my name on (so presumably have inadvertently signed up) and charity bags (have tried to stop them but they spoke no English and one or two acted aggressively) I get no cold callers at all. I just use the bags for grass cuttings.
I watched a team of salespeople/chuggers walk round all the houses and they stopped at the gate of both mine and my neighbour's houses, they saw the signs we both have with our local police force on them and they turned and walked away instead.

It's like bloody cold caller Kryptonite!

I typed a note and stuck it to my letter box. It seems to work well enough, I get very little unsolicited shite through the letter box.

HarmonyHedges · 22/03/2021 13:56

Royal Mail has to deliver the junk mail whether or not you have one of those stickers.
As pp said you need to fill out one of their forms.

I might put one on my mailbox saying "No bills". I wonder if that would work!
