What do you do with your garden cushions?

We've just bought a new outdoor corner that has 5 massive seat cushions and 6 back cushions. We intended to store them in the shed overnight but they're larger than I realised & I'm not sure they'll fit!

Do you think it'd be ok if I left them on the sofa and just put a waterproof cover over the whole thing overnight? Or do we need to buy a garden storage box?

& which is less faff? Putting the cushions back on or putting a cover over?

We'll put them away in the attic over winter so this is just for the summer months.

Ours can be left out in all weathers and the water runs straight through. Some of the newer ones don’t need to be covered.

We have a lot of outdoor seating cushions.
We bring them in every night and put them in the garden room.
Its a faff but they have lasted for 4 years now and don't look too bad.
The problem with an outdoor cover is stormy weather and humidity.

Our came with a cover.

We have cushions that can be left outside in theory, but we don't like them to get too wet, so we cover ours each night in the summer and put them in the loft over the winter. Like you, I'd thought about buying a storage box and then realised that they took up a huge amount more room than I thought! I reckon they would completely fill a 6x4 shed!

We have a cover over the top but the whole set is new, I'm wondering what to do with the storm that's due to tomorrow as our garden is a wind tunnel and the cover will not stay put. But I can't be arsed to move 13 cushions into the garage!

Cover on overnight, but removed to the loft in winter

Ok so it sounds like a good quality cover is the way to go! Thanks all

I bring in if the weather is looking rubbish for a few days.... otherwise I leave out with a cover. If they aren’t covered the birds shit all over them: I’ve looked at the storage boxes too but to be fair putting them in a box would be just as much hassle as sticking them
In the garage

Even if you could leave them out and not ruin them, they’re going to be less than pleasant to sit on after being exposed to the elements.

Do you have space for an outdoor storage box? We found a large plastic one at one of the DIY shops - think it is made by Keter. It’s not especially attractive- looks like a large fake rattan coffin, to be honest, but we tuck it away down the side of the house where it isn’t seen and it keeps cushions and stuff dry all year round.
