Tea towels/dish cloths that don't leave fluff on everything?

Just that really. Finally moving on into "real" grown-up life after years of my mother's cast offs and shared housing and wanted to get some nice tea towels in a neutral design which are absorbent and don't leave lint/fluff all over everything. Recommendations very much appreciated. Thank you!!

I find that after I wash tea towels a couple of times they don't leave lint on things.

Ikea are the best. There is a lovely one, cream with red stripes on there for 25p each at the moment!

@Xiaoxiong ooh thank you, just looked those up - they're great. I must just be unfortunate because every single towel I've had so far has left lint behind on dishes irrespective of how much they get washed.

This is utterly boring but totally useful and IKEA should use it as marketing cos I am going to buy these now too

WisestIsShe · 05/03/2021 22:22

Linen is what you need.

lazylinguist · 05/03/2021 22:24

Surely normal tea towels don't leave lint on anything? You need to go for normal cotton tea towels, not anything fluffy.

Yes yes to those IKEA ones. I’ve also got some checked terry towelling type ones and they’re really good but not sure where I got them from.

I always use the linen ones (made for glasses) - hate the fluffy stuff!

Linen tea towels marketed as suitable for glassware are the best for not shedding.

The really really cheap asda ones (think 5 for £1) are great. Much better than expensive ones.

Thanks all for the recommendations, very much appreciated! I'll go and look those all up.

@lazylinguist I do have the normal cotton ones (not fluffy) - they might just be rubbish quality and I need some better more tightly woven ones because they do indeed leave fluff on things and barely dry anything properly.

These are my favourite but I tend to let things drip dry rather than dry with tea towel.

I found that all tea towels left fluff/lint until they've been washed quite a few times
