White Company sheets- horrendous to iron

LadyLouOf2 · 23/02/2021 08:49

Is it just me, or are the White Company sheets absolutely horrendous to iron? I must've spent 25 mins just doing the duvet cover last night and it still looks creased now that it's on. I even looked at buying a new iron but I don't think that's the issue.

Tumble drying and giving them a shake doesn't work as they still crease up like hell.

Any tips!?

Hang them over a banister and buy the amazon hand held steamer works a treat

VelveteenChair · 23/02/2021 09:00

Put the iron onto its hottest setting and use lots of steam. And yes, the duvet covers take hours to iron!

I never iron sheets.

spin at a really low speed and tumble dry or line dry for only half an hour or so then iron while damp

One of the house renovation competition shows here in Australia has them putting the quilt cover on and then running the iron over it for presentation. That’s always seemed to be efficient. I can’t help with the sheets. I just dry on the line and fold. When we lived in the uk a dehumidifier was my saviour.

I have white company sheets, love them, they are ironed well

GlamGiraffe · 27/02/2021 00:11

Never tumble dry them. Dry on an airer or the line neatly folded itin ehilst ever so slightly damp and use spray starch with plenty of steam. Ive had sine of mine for well over 10 years and they lok reallh hood still. I iron them really fast, there's definitiely a knack to it .
Look after them and they will last you forever.
(I also revommend a sachet of dr beckman's glow white every couple if months too- 4th wash per set. Keeps them always looking very bright) .

I have about half a dozen sets of their sheets and they're great, but some are much harder to iron than others. I used to spend hours doing it (I'm not exaggerating!) In the end I outsourced and use an ironing company... it has changed my life! Highly recommend if you feel you can do it.

I hated my white company sheets, they were a nightmare to iron. In the end I gave up and threw them away, life is simply too short.
I got 70/30 polycotton from M&S, in white they are great and a joy to iron. Like others said, I put them over a banister to dry, I don’t tumble dry, use uron on the hottest setting, full steam.
For my daughter I have 50/50 polycotton, they don’t need any ironing.
