jamiedoger · 13/02/2021 14:55

Not sure if this is the right place to post. But we are making the jump from gas to induction hob and as I am on slimming world I don't use oil but use fry light.

Can any recommend any amazing non stick frying pans that go in the dishwasher

Thanks

Don't have the answer op but jumping on as I'm moving to a house with an induction hob so interested in your answers....

Oregano20 · 14/02/2021 09:27

What made you decide to go induction? I'd not really heard of them until I did a quick Google after we viewed the house.

CoxwellHuge · 14/02/2021 09:43

We have circulon pots and pans. We had them before we got the induction hob but they are absolutely great. They are the same pans they use on Masterchef. Not cheap but well worth the money.

Gubanc · 14/02/2021 09:45

Tefal also has an induction range.

bestbefore · 14/02/2021 09:49

Le crueset work on induction - I just "treated" (lol) myself to a couple - weirdly the cheapest place was in the Harrods sale - I think they will last ages. I bought a lovely sauté pan which is huge and will go in oven, I'm using that a lot and then a smaller frying pan which has straight sides and is great.

Cheaper though - tefal pans are fine as are most these days

I have just bought myself this as a birthday present (I know... 🙂but I've really got into cooking during lockdown). It's OK for induction hobs and dishwashers. It's expensive, but I am hoping it will last a loooong time compared to a £15 pan.

Roominmyhouse · 14/02/2021 09:51
Yep that’s what we have. Really good.
BeastOfBODMAS · 14/02/2021 09:52

We just got an amazing Greenpan set direct from their website on sale. Little to no oil needed and you just sort of show them the washing up bowl and the dirt falls off.
It’s my first time having fancy pans instead of cheapest available and I’m a convert!

MotleyThoughts · 14/02/2021 09:52

We moved to induction because my husband is disabled and it is safer - it turns off when you take all the pans off. It is also easier to clean. We have a cheaper IKEA hob, which is not as good as the more expensive ones. I find I have to put the heat on high and then turn it down, to get a constant heat (rather than starting low and slowly warming the pan).

If a magnet sticks to the bottom of the pan, it can be used on an induction hob. Beware, some of the pans are sold as induction but they are not - read the comments.

NannyR · 14/02/2021 09:53

The Ikea ones are good, not the cheapest pans but the mid range ones. I've had mine for years and the non-stick coating is still intact. I don't have a dishwasher though so they are washed by hand.

TitusPullo · 14/02/2021 09:53

We have an induction job, at first I burnt everything and thought what have I done, but now I am used to it I wouldn’t have any other type. We just use regular IKEA pans.

I would say I have never found anything non stick that will hold up to being put through the dishwasher. After a few months the coating starts to peel.

Yer tis, £60 set reduced from £150

Vytol · 14/02/2021 09:55

We use Denby ones and are very pleased with them.

A friend of mine has just got Woll pans and absolutely loves them on her induction.

CaraDuneRedux · 14/02/2021 09:57

Bought mine from Waitrose - the first one was too lightweight, and warped (but still works because pans don't have to be in contact with an induction hob, just close enough that the magnetic field can generate the induction currents). I then found a heavier weight one also in Waitrose which works a treat (was only about 25 quid). Also my old Meier one works (but isn't non-stick).

doodleygirl · 14/02/2021 09:59

Asda have some brilliant non stick which work with induction

Soontobe60 · 14/02/2021 10:01

Your answer is to never put non stick pans in a dishwasher!
Much easier to wash by hand, take up too much room and the coating gets damaged over time.

AlwaysLatte · 14/02/2021 10:06

We have some of these (also the saucepans and a pancake pan) from John Lewis - they regularly have 20% off Le Creuset so you could get a cheap one to keep you going while you wait. They're excellent (and are dishwasher proof).

AlwaysLatte · 14/02/2021 10:08

We have induction because we can't have gas here, and I like the instant control.

userintgerain · 14/02/2021 10:38

I'm really pleased with my tefal handleless ones, but never In the dishwasher.

Also, I've stopped using fry light as it destroys non stick. Since I stopped all my trays have kept as new. I just use a spray oil - it's really low in syn, tastes better and doesn't destroy non stick.

0blio · 14/02/2021 12:28

As above, use spray oil, frylight is full of water.

I have frying pans from Ikea and Homesense, most cookware from both is suitable for induction hobs - you don't have to pay a lot and mine go in the dishwasher.

jamiedoger · 16/02/2021 14:38

We have always had gas and a lovely range, but after staying in a holiday accommodation we loved how easy it is to clean as our range cooker always looks dirty!

Plus we have gone from a traditional shaker style kitchen to a modern handless kitchen and we wanted a sleeker easily to clean look

My stellar non stick was fab until dh murdered it cutting up bacon in it with a knife and fork.

Actually I’m still not over that and it was a couple of years ago now.

I love my induction, it’s so easy to clean with just a damp e cloth.
