Do you have a big glass shower enclosure and is it a pain to clean?

Currently doing the badthroom and we were going for a big glass shower enclosure but now thinking it will break my heart trying to keep it clean. The other option is to put up a panel wall and tile it but the bathroom is a small and due to the layout this would mean no space for storage of towels, toiletries etc. Do you have one like the pic and would you have put in an easier to clean option instead if you could go back?
Any opinions appreciated

Fit a water softener and you'll have perfect glass doors all the time with only occasional cleaning for the soap scum. Game changer.

Not really difficult-use regular glass spray cleaner

Pain in the arse to keep clean!

Method shower spray. Wouldn’t be without it.

@Crazybirdlady just a word of warning on tiles OP we have a glass screen door and then tiles inside - soap scum is my issue. Screens themselves are fine I have trained DH and toddler to spray and leave and I squeege but the walls are now in my nightmares - we have glossy tiles and the soap scum 😱. It's a PIA to get off so if you are going for tiles look at something not glossy so it won't show up quite so badly would be my advice Grin.

Thank you! We are between two wall tiles, one glossy, one matt. I thought, and they said in tile shop that glossy is easier to clean? The matt one is slightly matt not very rough, so wouldn't be the worst to clean.
So much to think about

@Crazybirdlady I have non gloss tiles in one shower and they are very easy to clean - it could be that I don't see the marks so badly 🤷🏻‍♀️ but I find the other two showers with gloss tiles an absolute nightmare. Could you get a sample of each one and "test"'them? I personally would never have gloss tiles in a shower again Blush

Yes I have an enclosed shower pod. The fixings holding the doors on are an absolute nightmare to clean. There’s nooks and crannies I just can’t get into.

I tried shower sprays. Useless. A bottle a week and nothing to show for it. Viakal left on every week and then scrubbed off. Tedious.

Install a water softner, and you will have no more limescale. Between that and using soap free products, which are better for the skin struggle to see what the issue will be. Encourage users to give walls and doors a rinse with shower head before getting out and should have no issues.

I have the exact shower you have shown. It's ok. But the seal and wheels get very dirty. Nothing to do with size, just the way the sliding doors work. You can unhinge the doors to clean underneath. I probably would buy it again but if I had space for just glass panels with no door (like I had in a previous house) then I'd do that instead.
