It bangs and clonks and shakes on spin. Awful noise! Is it the end of my machine? I really can't afford for it to die this time of year.

Hi got a washing machine makes a noise when it spins i think the ball barrning s , has gone not sure how to repair it

susan It is going to depend on how old the machine is. The more recent machines (and almost certainly any built in the last 5 years or so) have sealed drum/tub units, meaning the bearings cannot be replaced (a whole drum assembly is required - drum/outer tub etc).

For the cost of this, it is almost definitely going to be cheaper to replace the machine ( the only exception would be if you have a £1000 machine that you don't want to part with). However, the repair is still going to be a couple of hundred pound.
