Food storage - glass with bamboo lids

Hello

I'm looking to invest in some glass food storage that is both oven proof and freezer proof.
The White Company have exactly what I need but they are quite pricey.
IKEA has almost identical but the product description says they are oven friendly but doesn't mention freezer proof.
Does anyone have any recommendations, and/or knows if the IKEA ones actually are freezer proof?

This thread is quite old now, so some of the suggestions may be out of date, but we’ve very recently refreshed our best food storage containers page with plenty of options that have been tried, tested and loved by Mumsnetters, including glass containers. We hope you find it useful.

You mean the 365+ glass containers? The container itself is indeed over and freezer proof, but I don't think the lid is. However, the plastic lids from same series are compatible, so you could use those for freezing and bamboo ones for the containers on display?

Thanks @2020inhouse
Yes I mean the Ikea 365+ ones, exactly.

Thanks for that - I didn't realise the lids were not freezer proof. Maybe I need to save up for TWC ones then, else I'll have a cupboard full of plastic lids :)

No I mean that while it's wood so nothing should happen, but even with the TWC ones I don't think freezing the bamboo lid would be too practical? It's bulkier and if it freezes shut then it's difficult to get it open I would imagine.

I see what you mean.
The TWC product details specifically says they are suitable for freezing, so maybe the lid/seal is of better quality. I would hope so, given the price difference. I wouldn't be planning on removing the lid until the contents are fully defrosted. The Ikea ones do have some negative reviews about the seals (not to do with freezing, just in general).
I might order one from each and compare, before stocking up.
Thanks for your help!
